This page's purpose is to archive all old, unused or scrapped media from Dandy's World. Said media can be classified as concept art that looks different to the final product, removed features, early developmental images, and unused files in the game's code. This page features both unused/scrapped content and their current counterparts. This is mostly to inform people on the content that isn't in-game anymore; Any content that never made it into the game is not canon to the lore, and any content which was removed from the game is also non-canon.
Toons & Twisteds
Scrapped Toons & Twisteds
There are currently 3 known scrapped Toons and Twisteds created for Dandy's World which will never be added to the game. Had these Toons and Twisted been finalized, they would've filled the counters to 41 playable Toons and 43 Twisteds.
2024 Halloween Toons & Twisteds
The 3 Toons and Twisteds about to be mentioned were meant for the 2024 Halloween Event, which was cancelled due to the only developer being fired. The names of the Toons are the only thing revealed, but their structure could signify their role and object they're meant to be, much like other Toons (ex.
Poppy's name is related to popping, and she's a bubble, which pop on contact). The Toons are not coming to future Halloween Events due to Qwel thinking their designs weren't interesting enough to be added. Due to them never being added to the game, their concept art will not be released, as Qwel didn't want to disappoint any players who might believe them to be upcoming Toons. If they did release, they would have been the first set of Holiday Toons and Holiday Twisteds.
Countess & Twisted Countess
Countess and Twisted Countess are one of the 3 scrapped Toons and Twisteds meant for the 2024 Halloween Event. Not much is known about Countess other than her name. From the sound of her name, it can be assumed she was intended to be a female Toon themed around vampires, due to the word "countess" being used to refer to female vampires. She could've also been something like a grandfather clock, due to the word "count" in her name, which could relate to counting seconds, minutes or hours on a clock. The idea of a clock Toon with fangs might have been reused for
Dyle's design who is a pocket watch, a type of clock, and
Twisted Dyle having fangs.
Duke & Twisted Duke
Duke and Twisted Duke are one of the scrapped Toons and Twisteds meant for the 2024 Halloween Event. Not much is known about Duke other than his name. From the sound of his name, it can be assumed he was intended to be a male Toon. Unlike Harvey and Countess, his name doesn't have any obvious clues that hint to what he could've been, due to no real words being close to it.
Harvey & Twisted Harvey
Harvey and Twisted Harvey are one of the 3 scrapped Toons and Twisteds meant for the 2024 Halloween Event. Not much is known about Harvey other than their name, though, from the sound of their name, it can be assumed they were intended to be a pumpkin or a scarecrow since their name refers to harvesting. If
Pumpkins were also the planned Currency for the 2024 Halloween Event, that might have meant Harvey could have been the Main Character Holiday Toon for the Event, and the idea of a pumpkin Main Toon could have been repurposed for
Gourdy.
Early & Changed Designs
Astro & Twisted Astro Models/Designs
In v0.12.1, along with
Astro's and
Twisted Astro's optimizations, both counterparts also received the pair of black shorts as seen in the updated "Dream Big with Astro" Poster. Astro's Skins also received shorts with his Vintage and Star-Time Skins getting black shorts, and his Starry Night Skin getting white shorts.
Alternate Connie Colors
On the October 17th, 2024 art stream, Qwel drew
Twisted Connie's concept art and used
Connie's concept art as a reference. However, while not extremely noticeable, the concept art has more teal-like blue colors than the current version of Connie, who has a more blueish color palette. There is a chance that the unused teal color palette was reused for Connie's twin brother, Soulvester.
Twisted Connie Design
On the October 17th, 2024 art stream, Qwel drew
Twisted Connie's concept art, since before then, she had no Twisted design. She had a scrapped outline sketch, appearing to have longer arms, 4 claws on each hand, and a wide-open black eye with a red X in the middle. She also might have had her hair covering her other eye, since her other eye and hair were never drawn.
Dandy
Model
Dandy's old design debuted in the Dandy's World teaser on October 31, 2023, where it showed him running down a hallway and waving to the viewers. This early variant had a pair of inset eyes like a doll, which would've created the effect of him looking at the viewers' perspective from multiple angles. His eyes were also able to emit light, giving them the impression of glowing in the dim-lit environment. Dandy's inset eyes may have inspired
Gourdy's eyes, making him look at the viewers' perspective from multiple angles also.
Designs
Dandy's first concept design was made back around December 23, 2022. This older design is similar to the final design, other than his more chibi-like body, his petals pointing behind his head, his cheeks were tan, he had paw like hands, and wearing a pair of mismatched colorful socks, with colored ankles, toes and heels. Dandy's mouth also appears to be locked in a toothy grin. This version of Dandy was probably going to be used in the scrapped 2022 "Dandy" game since the design of the Dandy Easter Egg in Flavor Frenzy since it shares the same paw like hands.
In a more recent piece of concept art made before the release of the Game, this version of Dandy was the final design with even using one of the poses from old Dandy's voting icon, but the other poster has Dandy with canine teeth which was never seen in game or in any other pieces of art in game and doodles. The artwork also has Dandy with a green tongue too.
Twisted Dandy
Designs
Twisted Dandy had 2 old designs that were drastically different to his current design. His first iteration was sickly thin and much taller with completely black eyes that appeared to emit black mist. The design also used to also have 4 arms, which was eventually used for
Twisted Astro's and
Astro's designs.
His second iteration looks a bit closer to his final design, albeit still very different. Instead of his body being entirely composed of
Ichor, his lower body is his regular Toon body but with heavily desaturated coloring, and the Skin around his Toon body is torn with an upper-body fully composed of Ichor coming out of it. He still carries similar traits to those of his current Twisted design, and he uses a similar face to the current Twisted Dandy. The only difference here aside from the Toon lower body is the lack of VHS
Tapes tangled around him and him being bipedal. His first two designs depicted him to be more bipedal rather than running on all fours like the current Twisted Dandy design.
Tape Models
Twisted Dandy has the
Tapes model in his model, so when the new Tape model was added to the game in v0.11.1, Twisted Dandy's model was optimized along with the new Tape model.
Twisted Finn Design
Twisted Finn was originally going to look a tad bit different. His arms were planned to be thinner and longer compared to the thicker, shorter ones now, his Ichor trail seemed to not fade, and his pupils look smaller. Also, although this could be an error, Twisted Finn does not have his chipped tooth. You can also see Ichor splashing up his head, something that was likely just an artistic choice. Also, Twisted Finn does not have a shadow between his eyes, though this was actually how Finn would look until v0.13.14.
Flutter & Twisted Flutter Designs
Flutter's design was originally going to be depicted more like an actual butterfly. Her antennae were curled as was her proboscis, which were more accurate to her class. Her wings had a clover-like pattern (similar to
Pebble) instead of a singular heart, she was slightly shorter, her dress had frilly ends and there was more fluff under her thorax. She also was originally going to be depicted walking instead of flying. The clover on her wings alongside her walking instead of flying was later reused for her brother
Flyte.
Twisted Flutter's design was originally going to be much duller in color, her wings being blue, her wings and left antenna being ruptured, her proboscis more elongated, almost like a noose and her eyes were planned to be black dilated pupils with faded red sclera. The lower half of her body also seemed to lay stationary in a hole, likely as a potential mechanic similar to
Twisted Rodger but might have used her proboscis to wrap around the unsuspecting player.
Twisted Gigi Designs
Twisted Gigi's design is overall the same apart from having had 2 arms coming out of her head instead of the currently used one according to the rough concepts, and that she might have had walked around on her legs instead on crawling judging on one of the drawings of her upright with her arms down beside her.
Twisted Glisten Design
While the concept image shown does not depict his design in its entirety,
Twisted Glisten was shown to have a visible mouth, as well as far more cunning and smug face. Noticeably, the cracks in his glass (although slightly more shattered) are quite similar to his current design and the only thing missing from his old and current designs is his pink bow.
Twisted Goob Design
Twisted Goob's old design was quite similar to his current one, with the only major differences being his oversized hands which was supposed to be replicated in-game as well but couldn't be due to them not functioning properly so his hands were scaled down as much as possible, his eyes were wide open, his mouth was more closed, smaller head fluff, and he had less Ichor on his feet with it only being on the soles of his feet instead of up to his ankles.
Pebble & Twisted Pebble Designs
Pebble was originally going to have rounded, forward facing eyes, akin to hunter eyes, unlike in his final design with them being smaller, googly and more prey-like.
Twisted Pebble originally had a smaller lower jaw with only two large canines and two smaller teeth in between. He also didn't have any claws on his "paws". He also seemed to have a more curved body. The rock on the end of his tail was larger and his eyes were further apart with large irises and two tiny pupils.
Poppy Designs
Poppy's concept sketches had two variants; the first had her in a navy-blue dress and bow, with polka dots in a lighter shade. Her sleeves and tights were also of said lighter shade.
Her second design, which is closer to her current counterpart, had her dress and bow in a pastel pink color, while the polka dots, her sleeves, and tights were a pastel yellow. Her tights are also free of pink stripes.
The first variant would later be added as a purchasable Skin in Dyle's Store, called "Sapphire Dots", but with added navy-blue lines on her ankles.
Twisted Razzle & Dazzle Design
In concept art for
Twisted Razzle & Dazzle, a few things look different compared to the current version. They were planned to be tied to what seemed to a chain/handle bolted to the floor rather than a weight, the masks were originally not going to have Ichor lining the inside, they could have been posed differently, Dazzle's mouth seems to be a lot smaller, and they had Ichor below their neck ribbon. Additionally, although this could just be an error in the drawing,
Razzle & Dazzle's masks don't seem to line up and be able to connect correctly.
Male Scraps Design & Concepts
During development,
Scraps was originally depicted as a male Toon, though only difference design-wise was her lack of eyelashes. While this version of Scraps is unused in the storyline and her in-game model, there are still some relics in the game that feature this male version of her, these being the old version "
Astro in Stage Fright" Poster, which was updated in v0.10.1, and the "Welcome to Gardenview" Poster, and Scraps' Information Card having little/no space next to each occurrence of the word "she" since Qwel had to edit in the "S".
Early in development, Scraps' ears were originally meant to be horns, but due to how they were designed Qwel made them to be ears instead, which also developed Scraps' cat-like actions. Scraps was also not originally related to
Goob but due to them both being crafts, Qwel made them siblings. However, since this was later in development, it was too late to change any designs to make them look more related. If this was not the case though, they probably would've just had more similar characteristics.
Twisted Shelly Designs
Twisted Shelly was originally going to be much different from the one we have today. Her body was broken into 3 parts: her head, torso and legs, all connected by
Ichor, which would have given her a considerably large height. Her eyes would have also been mismatched, her left eye having a large black pupil with a red dot in the centre, while the right eye resembled the current design, having a red slit instead. This design was scrapped due to Qwel wanting her design to reference more to a dinosaur, as it ties back to
Shelly's passionate affinity of paleontology.
She also had another drafted design that was drastically different from her final design. This design carries more resemblance to her original Toon self, but with black branches stretching out of her back, eyes, and heels, and having black limbs and feet. This design also gave her larger claws, and hearts on her palms, but she possessed no eyes. This iteration of Twisted Shelly might have been inspiration for
Goob and
Twisted Goob due to the Twisted Shelly's arms and hands having the exact same design as Twisted Goob's, just with different colors and black heart palms.
Qwel stated in a Q&A that Twisted Shelly was originally supposed to depict an Allosaurus, however her size was too small to accommodate as one. Due to this, it's been also stated by Qwel that she's more likely a mixture of many dinosaurs. She also said that Shelly would've had feathers if she were depicting a Velociraptor or any raptor within the Dromaeosauridae family.
Twisted Sprout Design
Twisted Sprout's concept serves as an early link to the current one we know and see today. Other than being smaller, the design had less
Ichor covering his head, only covering the left side of his body, rather than approximately 75% of it as seen in the current design. The concept design also depicts a trail of Ichor behind him. Twisted Sprout has only his left eye concealed, resembling his current design. His scarf, which had only Ichor on the tip would have translated into a new digit limb that would have kept Twisted Sprout's head up right, since he was originally going to have a limping head. His hair was also much paler and sharper with one of the leaves covering the Ichor-infected eye. Finally, the last key difference is his left arm, which was big with a clawed hand parallel to that of
Twisted Cosmo's. It also had leaves as claws instead of the finalized Ichor claws.
Twisted Toodles Design
While not that noticeable,
Twisted Toodles has a few minor changes. Her cracked head seems to be empty with more cracks visible on the top of her head. The crack in her head also seemed to have a different shape, since in the concept art the "8" on her head isn't visible anymore due to said crack, while in her current model the bottom half is visible. She also seemed to have a bit less Ichor on her feet and around her overall. After her optimizations in v0.13.10, the Ichor on her hand is no longer there, though it's currently unknown whether this was a design choice or just a texture issue.
Twisted Vee Designs
Twisted Vee's first iteration had her torso connected to bundles of metal wires emerging from a vent. She notably didn't have a waist-down, and her screen projected a wide grin with sharp teeth. Her hands were also fitted with thicker palms and sharper claws. It can be assumed that her attack/gimmick was meant to involve vents.
Twisted Vee's second iteration had her appear not much different from her
Toon self. Her torso was connected with a short black Ichor tube, and her left arm was covered in Ichor. Her screen, neck and torso also dripped
Ichor. The only notable differences were the size of both halves of her bisected torso and the texture of her legs.

In v0.12.1, all of
Shelly's animations were fully reanimated—walking, running, extracting, idle and Active Ability animations. Her model was optimized and she now blinks.
In v0.11.1, all of

TBA
In v0.13.14, all of
Twisted Finn's animations were fully reanimated—walking, running, attacking, and idle animations. His model was optimized and he now blinks.
During
Twisted Flyte's early development stages, he was originally going to pursue his victims on foot like his original self, but he currently pursues and roams while flying, despite his idle and attacking animations showing him on the ground. He was likely made to fly in order to let players know he is in fact capable of flying despite not doing so normally.
In v0.10.1, all of
Twisted Razzle & Dazzle's animations were fully reanimated—walking, running, attacking, hostile idle, waking up, sleeping idle, and sitting down animations. Their model was optimized and they now blink.
In v0.13.14, all of
Twisted Rodger's animations were fully reanimated—walking, running, attacking, and idle animations. His model was optimized and he now blinks.
In v0.13.14, all of
Twisted Teagan's animations were fully reanimated—walking, running, attacking and idle animations. Her model was optimized and she now blinks.
In v0.4,
Twisted Toodles had her running animation changed from crawling on all fours like an animal to running on two legs. Her animations were changed again in v0.4.1, now crawling on all fours like a baby. The reason for these changes was because of the introduction of Roleplay Mode, where people would do inappropriate actions with this old animation. In v0.13.10, all of her animations were fully reanimated- walking, running, attack and idle animations, with her running reverting back to being animal like. Her model was optimized and she now blinks.
In the game files, there is an unused animation for
Twisted Blot that was meant to be his losing sight animation.
In v0.13.14, all of
Twisted Flutter's animations were fully reanimated—walking, running, attacking and idle animations. Her model was optimized and she now blinks.

Twisted Dandy's animations were fully reanimated—walking, running, attacking, and idle animations. His model was optimized and he now blinks.
In v0.7.1, all of
Twisted Pebble's animations were fully reanimated—walking, running, attacking, and idle animations. His animations are given more movement and made smoother, making him move more like a wild animal. His model was optimized and he now blinks.
In v0.12.1, all of
Twisted Shelly's animations were fully reanimated- walking, running, attack and idle animations. Her model was optimized and she now blinks.
In v0.11.1, all of

In v0.9.1, all of
Twisted Vee's animations were fully reanimated—walking, running, attacking, and idle animations. Along with the new animations, Twisted Vee's model was optimized. She now blinks and is given a faint TV static overlay, which can now be seen on her screen.
Unused & Scrapped Textures
Astro's Old Textures
When
Astro got optimized in v0.12.1, he got a slight change to his textures, adding in some black pixels in between his hat's texture and his concept art, which are the textures for his new shorts. For the Starry Night Skin textures, the hat's texture is bigger, so the shorts texture is placed next to the hex colors/reference drawing and is colored white.
Bobette's Eyes
In the teasers for the Christmas Toons,
Bobette's face texture looked slightly different from the final version. Her eyes looked more oval and crudely drawn, and her overall face texture looked smaller and much chubbier than the one seen in the final version.
Coal's Bag
While very similar to
Coal's used texture, Coal's unused texture has a smaller texture for Coal's bag and also seems to be very slightly less saturated than the used texture.
Twisted Coal's Blinking
When the 2024 Christmas Event was released,
Twisted Coal was supposed to blink when she spawns during gameplay, but it was never seen in both Roleplay Mode and in main game for unknown reasons.
Dandy's Hurt Face
In the game's files, there was an unused hurt face for
Dandy, depicting him in an emotionless and numb smirk in a wrathful stare of dilated pupils and sharp red slits on them. Since the release of Roleplay Mode, Dandy's hurt face is now the same face he uses on his 3rd phase when not purchasing items from his store in the elevator.
Twisted Dyle's Default Face
Twisted Dyle used to have a different default face in-game prior to v0.12.1. This has had his left brow slightly furrowed and his mouth slightly open, seemingly expressing disgust. His current face is now the same as seen in his render, though it remains the same outside of Roleplay Mode.
Twisted Eclipse's Blinking
Twisted Eclipse has an unused blinking texture, though the only major differences are that the current version has her eyes seem less stressed when closed and her teeth stays closed.
Twisted Finn Old Texture
When
Twisted Finn got optimized, he got a slight change to his face texture. It overall remains the same, however a shadow between his eyes is now present.
Ginger's Hurt Faces
In the game files, there are unused hurt faces for
Ginger, which was Ginger with her eyelid in an angry expression and her mouth was showing her teeth. While this went unused for Ginger's Default Skin, her Vintage and Minty Pine Skins still had the unused hurt face texture, but this was fixed in v0.6.2 to the correct texture. However, despite this change, the tiny stress line from the old texture can still be seen in Minty Pine Ginger's hurt texture.
Twisted Glisten
Enraged Face
Twisted Glisten had a very slight change to his enraged face when he was optimized in v0.12.1, making him look a bit more distressed. The only differences are that his eye is more closed, the pupil is slightly smaller, and there are two small stress lines near his eyelid.
Blinking
When v0.12.1 was released,
Twisted Glisten was supposed to blink when he spawns during gameplay, but it was never seen in both Roleplay Mode and in the main game for unknown reasons.
Looey's Blinking
Looey's unused blinking texture had his mouth slightly more pinched in at the bottom, implying that his normal face would likely have the same mouth. While likely an oversight, Looey's Vintage Skin still uses this pinched mouth design, causing his mouth to visibly look squished when blinking while using the Skin.
Shelly's Old Textures
When
Shelly got optimized in v0.12.1, she got a slight change to her textures, though the only change was her face being moved a bit to the right and down.
Vee's Hurt Face
Just like every other Toon,
Vee would have had a hurt face which had her in mild annoyance. The face has changed to be a unique blue error screen with the text "REBOOTING..." due to her being a television. This also carried onto her Vintage Skin with a now black & white cinematic "𝒯𝒽ℯ ℰ𝓃𝒹" text, her Cosmic Signal Skin with the text "SIGNAL ERROR", her Star-Time Skin with the text "𝙿𝙻𝙴𝙰𝚂𝙴 𝚆𝙰𝙸𝚃 . . ." with a moon and two stars behind the text, her Showtime Skin with the text "Are You Entertained?" with an eye up in the corner, as well as her Zapped Creation Skin with the text "DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE" with an electrical warning image in between the words "Danger" and "High".
Miscellaneous
Astro's Sparkles Models
In v0.12.1, when
Astro was optimized, the sparkles used in his Active Ability and Extraction animations were also updated, though the only difference is that the small sparkle is now more similar in shape to the larger one, rather than being cross shaped, and the sparkles' models being moved from Astro's head to his torso. The same thing happened to all his Skins.
Renders
Connie's Unused Render
Before
Connie was released, she had an Unused full render that was done by the fired developer and due to the fired developer having the old Connie model, a new model was needed to be done and a new render of Connie was also made. This newer render had Connie facing to the left instead of right, her head being tilted more upwards and her hands are on her lower cheeks instead of being over her mouth. The newer render also has brighter lighting.
Dandy's Unused Renders
Dandy used to have two different renders. The first render had Dandy facing forward instead of to the left, his eyes were open instead of closed, he is seen with his hands pointing to his face instead of on the side, and he is standing forwards instead of walking left. The second render shows Dandy looking slightly to the side, with his hands open. While the First render is unused for Dandy's ingame render, this render is instead used for the Game icon. While the second render was never used anywhere in the game.
Vee's Unused Render
Shelly's Unused Render
Sprout's Unused Render
Astro's Unused Render
WIP
Twisted Flyte's Alternate Render
There is an alternate full render for
Twisted Flyte which goes unused in-game. This render is very similar to the current version used, but there are a few small differences. The unused render has his legs and back less bent, his head is tilted up, and his wings aren't tilted backwards. The shadow between his eyes and his smudged eyeliner also seems to not be present in the unused render.
Pebble's Tongue Model
Inside of
Pebble's old model, he had a tongue model which was probably going to be part of his animations, but went unused and was just left inside his models. Later on, when he got all his models reworked in v0.7.1, the tongue model was removed. His Vintage and Star-Time Skins' tongues were the same color as his default Skin.
Twisted Rodger Ichor Trail
In Roleplay Mode,
Twisted Rodger used to have an Ichor trail behind him when he moved. Upon his optimization in v0.13.14, this trail has been removed.
Voting Icons
Brightney's Voting Icon
Brightney seemed to have a different voting icon, as seen in the "Welcome to Gardenview" Poster. This icon had Brightney posed differently, with the angle looking more upwards, with different hand poses for her. The artwork for Brightney's Information Poster also uses the current version, just with a list in her hand. This was shown as Brightney's Matchmaking icon when it released in v0.13.13.
Dandy's Voting Icon
Before Release,
Dandy might have had a different voting icon, found in the "Welcome to Gardenview" Poster, as all of the Toons on the poster have their voting icons from that, with the exception of some. It is likely that Dandy's wasn't added to his code when voting, but the artwork is still used in the Dandy cutouts found in some of the maps. This unused icon seems to look like he is running with his hand up while smiling, presumably at the viewer.
The Icon that was used in the game for over a year was likely a placeholder icon which was never replaced. This old Dandy icon came from his most recent concept art, which was him smiling at the viewer and holding his hands together, slightly leaning over with hearts.
In v0.11.1, Dandy was finally given a proper voting icon to replace his old placeholder icon. His new icon is, like the old one, a waist-up view of himself, with him having a seemingly worried yet smiling expression, holding his hands over his cheeks.
Dyle's Voting Icon
Before
Dyle was added to the game he had an unused voting icon, this icon is very similar to his current icon except his eyes and pupils are slightly bigger, and he has an eyebrow visible.
Scraps' Voting Icon
Scraps seemed to have a different voting icon, as seen in the "Welcome to Gardenview" Poster, just without eyelashes. This icon had Scraps having her body facing to the left instead of the right, she is seen waving with her left hand instead of her right, she can be seen kicking her right leg out where in her current one having her that same leg curled in, and her tail is on her left side in a "S" shape instead of being on her right side and being curved. Her mouth was also less open and had sharp corners unlike the current version which has more smoother corners. The artwork for Scraps' Information Poster also uses the current version.
Tisha's Voting Icon
Tisha seemed to have a different voting icon, as seen in the "Welcome to Gardenview" Poster. This icon had Tisha facing right instead of left, and she looks to be running. Her mouth is also closed unlike the current version, where it's open. The artwork for Tisha's Information Poster also uses the current version, just with her feather duster in her hand.
Textboxes
Dandy's Textbox color
Upon his release,
Dandy used a basic white textbox. However, after 1 whole year, in v0.11.1, Dandy's textbox was finally changed by adding a rainbow gradient below the normal textbox.
Poppy's Textbox color
During development,
Poppy had a white colored textbox similar to
Dandy's old textbox, but it was changed sometime before being released to light blue.
Yatta's Textbox color
Upon her release,
Yatta used to have a yellow textbox. Her text color was changed to pink in v0.8.4, as it was the same as
Looey's textbox color and could cause confusion when the two interacted.
Toon Skins
Scrapped Skin Concepts
Candy Apple Blot
During development of the Halloween Skins, a Candy Apple Skin for
Blot was scrapped. This Skin had Blot as a candy apple, with his “hair” resembling caramel, along with having caramel on his feet and on his neck line. He had chartreuse legs and face paint, and his shirt was changed to a more red-orangish tone.
Skull Blot
During development of the Halloween Skins, a Skull Skin for
Blot was scrapped. This Skin has Blot with skull face paint and red eyeliner. He also has a black shirt with a skeleton skull and a long sleeve red and black striped shirt underneath.
Glasses Boxten
In the 6th of September Art Stream, there was a very early and unfinished Skin for
Boxten. The only changes from his original design were a pair of glasses and a shirt. He also appeared to have short pants.
Spooky Looey
During development of the Halloween Skins, a Spooky Skin for
Looey was scrapped. This Skin features Looey with a similar color palette to his default, however the green has been switched out for orange and the purple and yellow are in slightly different tones, looking a bit more "sour." He also has green blush and his shirt has a black and green striped pattern. The color scheme also looked similar to the Yatta Infected Candy skin.
Ruby and Sapphire Razzle & Dazzle
In the 2nd of September 2024 Art Stream, an unfinished Skin for
Razzle & Dazzle was shown. Razzle's side was colored red and Dazzle's side was colored light blue, their ribbon neck/scarf was colored purple, and they wore a white sweater which was most likely unfinished and the shape of it was reused for the Seafoam Razzle & Dazzle Skin. Noticeably, they don't have any face markings in the concept art, showing that this concept was unfinished.
The idea of the red, blue and purple colors was likely repurposed for the Radiant Dream Razzle & Dazzle Skin, instead using a darker blue color than the unused concept design.
Dragon Scraps
In the 2nd of September 2024 Art Stream, the Dragon
Scraps was shown, a Skin that was eventually scrapped. She had fully light green Skin, her ears were replaced by a pair of horns with yellow tips, her cupcake liner dress has a solid yellow border, and her hands, feet, nails and tail cup are a darker shade. Similar to
Twisted Scraps, the cup on her tail is now torn, with some noting it resembles a smirk.
An alternate red version of this Skin was possibly going to be used as a 2025 Halloween Event Skin. In this second variant, Scraps was recolored into different shades of red and wears a deep maroon dress. However, due to Scraps' model not being optimized by the time the Event released, the Skin concept has been scrapped entirely.
Tamagotchi Vee
In the 2nd of September 2024 Art Stream, two versions of Tamagotchi
Vee were concepts intended for Vee before being scrapped. In both versions, her limbs were white, her screen displayed a cat mouth, and her microphone had a white grill.
In the first version, Vee's head and body were pale pink, her face display was yellow, her microphone's base was silver, and both her bowtie and antennas were baby blue. In an alternate design, her bowtie has yellow polka dots. This Skin's palette was later repurposed for Pastel Paper
Scraps.
In the second version, her head and body were colored with a blue and yellow marbled pattern, her face display was pale blue, and both her bowtie and antennas were blue. Her monitor had white stars on its side, and her microphone's base was blue.
Red Vee
In the 2nd of September 2024 Art Stream, Qwel showed an unfinished Skin for
Vee. Her head and body were red, and her limbs and antennas were all maroon. There is also an alternate version where her limbs and antennas were a pale pink. Her screen was completely white with her eyes and mouth being red, her microphone was white, and she is also wearing a white poncho with red threading replacing her bowtie, which was later reused for part of the outline of Cosmic Signal Vee Skin's cape.
The idea of the white screen with red colors was likely repurposed for the Showtime Vee Skin.
Batty Yatta
During development of the Halloween Skins, a Batty Skin for
Yatta was scrapped. This Skin had Yatta in a red and black color palette, with the addition of black and red wings resembling bat wings and 2 fangs instead of her usual 3, likely to resemble vampire bats. The idea of a vampire/bat like Skin was likely reused for the Sanguine Silence Skin for
Blot.
Alternate Colors
Antique Shade Brightney
In the 2nd of September 2024 Art Stream, 4 concept variants for a
Brightney Skin were made.
Two of them were seafoam blue and the 2 were olive green. The first and second drafts had the same lampshade color and herb patterns. The only difference here were the first had white glasses and plaids while the other was black with polka-dots and stripes. Her arm warmers were also black. The last two were similar like the first just recolored green but the fourth one didn't have any motifs on her lampshade and had a neon green lightbulb.
However, the second turquoise option without the plaids was the one that was chosen.
Vivid Monarch Flutter
In the 2nd of September 2024 Art Stream, a concept for a
Flutter Skin was made, it had variants of colors for the torso, yellow and brown. However, the brown Flutter was the one that was finalized.
Served Eggy Pebble
The original teased version of the Served Eggy
Pebble Skin had a dark grey body and grey legs, while the final version has a dark brown body and dark tan legs.
Radiant Dream Razzle & Dazzle
In v0.11.1, the Radiant Dream
Razzle & Dazzle Skin has its pale pink, pale royal blue and pale purple changed to be more saturated, and the ends of their scarf has been changed to blue with pink tips instead of being just pink, overall making them pop out more.
Alpha Sleeper Rodger
In the 2nd of September 2024 Art Stream, a concept for a
Rodger Skin was made, it had variants of colors, tan and grey. However, the grey Rodger was the one that was finalized.
Dino Snore Shelly
In the 2nd of September 2024 Art Stream, a concept for a
Shelly Skin was made with three variants.
The first suggested colors were light green and yellow, the second palette was teal and lime green, and the third was maroon and vermilion, also having a jagged tooth.
The third concept was chosen and implemented into the game by popular vote.
Star-Time Sprout
When
Sprout was optimized in v0.11.1 the cape star clip for his Star-Time Skin was incorrectly colored light blue instead of yellow, this was soon fixed in v0.11.4.
Lavender Maid Tisha
In the 2nd of September 2024 Art Stream, a concept for a
Tisha Skin was made, it had three variants of colors, baby pink, dark indigo and lavender. However, the lavender Tisha was the one that was finalized.
In the same stream the lavender Tisha has two alternative looks with different types of makeup with dark lavender eye shadow and dark lavender cheeks but the final design had neither of these makeups. Also the feather dust had a different look with lavender tips and the rest of the feather duster being white.
Early Designs
Creepy Clown Looey
The Creepy Clown
Looey Skin seemed to originally have a dominant red color palette with a secondary white color, before having the red on his limbs and ears changed to have blue and yellow. The Early design also has different clown makeup with had red tears inside of zigzags under his eyes, and his expression is also different with the early design having a closed mouth and a mischievous look. He additionally didn't have any Ichor on his feet.
Star-Time Pebble
In Star-Time
Pebble's early concept art, not much changed, with the only difference from the final version being a sky teal plaid blanket with yellow tassels instead of the pillow on his head/back.
Ebony Detective Rodger
In Ebony Detective
Rodger's concept art, he is seen wearing a trench coat matching his clothing colors. The reason as to why the coat was not in the final design was likely due to the fact modelling and animating the coat would be time-consuming. After he was optimized, the skin still didn't have a cape, but the clothes have been redone to make it distinct from being just a recolor.
Fairy Godmother Shrimpo
In an early mockup of Skins made by ShimpleDimple (now a developer for Dandy's World), Fairy Godmother
Shrimpo had a gold and light blue skirt and tiara gem, larger wings and was a brighter pink. In the in-game version the colors changed to white and pink, along with more detailing in the skirt.
Star-Time Shelly
In Star-Time
Shelly's texture had an early concept with a light teal shirt with imprinted gold dinosaurs, instead of her black shirt with imprinted gold and teal dinosaurs. The concept art also had her wear a star hair clip instead of the final teal and gold twin-star headband, and her wrist bands were dark grey instead of teal and gold.
Star-Time Vee
In Star-Time
Vee's texture, there was an early concept of the Skin, which was near identical to the final design. The only differences are that Vee has clouds on her antennas and doesn't have the yellow ankle bracelets from the final design.
Infected Candy Yatta
Infected Candy
Yatta was originally planned to be called Zombie Bite. Additionally, she didn't have the heart on her torso in the concept art and small patches of skin near the bites were present.
Unused Textures
Starry Night Astro
In an art stream, when some of the Skins were being showcased,
Astro's Starry Night Skin had a different gaze than in the final texture. Instead of looking forward, Astro looked off to the side. It is currently unknown on why the Skin was changed, although it could possibly be because with Astro's (old) idle animation, this would have resulted in him turning to the right but looking left, which might look odd. He would also be cross-eyed if the Skin was kept the same.
Eve Sleeper Bobette
Inside the texture files of
Bobette's Eve Sleeper Skin, there is an unused texture featuring smaller pupils.
Old Vintage Bobette Eyes
In v0.6.2, Vintage
Bobette's eyes were modified to have larger pupils to better match her default expression.
Early Lilac Haunting Connie Eyelids
Lilac Haunting
Connie's original texture was quite similar to the used version, the only difference being that her eyelids weren't shiny unlike the used texture.
Lost Prince Gourdy Particles
In the game files, there are three alternative texture sheets for
Gourdy's Lost Prince Skin's particles which go unused. The first one looks really different, with white outlined circles for flame cores and a more wavy flame. The second one looks a lot more like the used version, though it is a lot more opaque, white and large, while also having the bottom be connected with a few changes there too. The third one further approaches the current one's design, though the flame has a teardrop shape, with a rounder bottom. It also seems a bit grayer and transparent. The one used in game looks like the third version, but a lot smaller, opaque, whiter and tweaked. It seems to also take the wavy quality of the flames from the second version.
Unused Creepy Clown Looey Texture
Creepy Clown
Looey's unused texture is similar to the used texture, with the only difference being the Ichor spots having a different pattern, with the used texture having a more rounder/neat shape for both spots, while the unused texture has 2 visually different Ichor spots with more of a splattered shape.
Unused Dapperly Festive Looey Texture
Dapperly Festive
Looey's unused texture is similar to the used texture, however the texture for the shirt is bigger and on the bottom left, whereas the used texture has a smaller shirt texture and is located on the middle left.
Vintage Soulvester Hurt Face
Since the 2025 Halloween Event's release,
Soulvester's Vintage Skin had a different hurt face, with his pupils being the same shape as his other Skins. This was later fixed in v0.13.11 to give him the pie-cut pupils the other Vintage Skins have.
Miscellaneous
Placeholder Skin Names
Some Dyle's Store Skins had different names when revealed before being added to the game, these being:
- Star Astro became Starry Night Astro
- Sweater Glisten became Cozy Sweater Glisten
- Party Hat Goob became Fun Partygoer Goob
- Spiked Shrimpo became Dark Spikes Shrimpo
- Purple Teagan became Purple Elegance Teagan
- The Maid Tisha became Lavender Maid Tisha
Cheer Bear Shelly's Alternate Render
Cheer Bear
Shelly's unused render appears to use the same pose default Shelly's full render has. The differences between the used and unused renders include Cheer Bear Shelly facing the viewer in the used render while tilting her head instead of towards the left in the unused one, has her left leg positioned forwards with her right leg bent backwards instead of them both positioned to make it look like she is walking, and has her arms extended out to each side instead of on her chest. Why it was replaced is unknown, but one reason could be that the pose made her hands block the symbol on her dress. It is unknown if
Astro and
Shrimpo both had this situation too.
Floors, Maps, Rooms
Lobby
Old UGC area
Upon the release of Alpha, there was an area completely dedicated to the UGC Items in the Lobby. It featured purple walls, posters everywhere, and also had a row of computers where you would buy the UGCs. After v0.11.1, the area was completely remodeled to make room for Dyle's Store, however you can still buy UGCs there. The old layout of this section was still able to be seen in Roleplay Mode minus some decorations, until v0.12.1 where the Lobby in Roleplay Mode was updated to fit with the current one.
Old Train Station & Train Model
Upon the release of Alpha, there was a very simple train station outside of the Lobby. This train station reused the train model for Flavor Frenzy, and had a very simplistic design. After v0.11.1, the area had been completely remodelled with a bigger and highly detailed train model being made up of six train carts instead of three, each colored a color of the rainbow, more decorations around the platform, some writing made up of Ichor on a wall opposite the Lobby, and another revolving gate on the other side of the track. The Train also used to go past the Lobby twice before stopping, but now it will always stop. The old layout of this section can still be seen in Roleplay Mode, though in v0.12.1 the Lobby in Roleplay Mode was updated.
Warehouse
Old Variant 2 Section
After the v0.3, one of the Warehouse Floors was updated and removed some walls to be able to connect to the rest of the map for easier accessibility/navigation, but one casualty were the portraits of the Toon Handlers being removed to extend the map out more. The portraits were then moved to one of the Greenhouse floors.
Old Variant 3 Floor Layout
Before v0.7.1, the Variant 3 Warehouse's back area, which was connected to one of the elevator spawns that featured two corridors connected by a turn, was replaced by an area featuring a thin island in the middle and including a small room at the upper right of the island from the front. The spot is still connected to the same elevator spawn, however having a wider passageway than before.
Alongside that change, multiple spots on the variant were changed to be wider or be more spacious, such as the middle map, one of the elevator spawns and a side room near the middle map.
In v0.12.1, the map received a further rework. The garage doors on the right side are now open and expand to a new section in the map. Some other areas were also altered and expanded, making the map more open.
KinitoPET
In Variant 2 Warehouse, there was a Kinito Easter Egg from the horror game "KinitoPET". Kinito could be found trying to crawl out of a computer screen. The easter egg was removed after the developer who added it got fired, and it's unknown if it will ever be readded.
Van's License Plate
In the Warehouse Floors, there are multiple vans around the map, with license plates of an Easter Egg of Qwel and the fired developer. Due to the fired developer's controversies and eventual blacklisting, the plates were changed from XXX-QW3L to QW3L-V3R. *The "XXX" being the fired developer's name, but that has been redacted.
Gift Shop Maze Section
The old version before the v0.7.1 of the Gift Shop was hard to navigate and hard if there were no distractors. So Qwel changed the Gift Shop by removing the boards at the centre of the maze and placed an object so distractors can distract in the maze.
Old Shelly Map
Before the v0.7.1, Shelly Map was more crowded and less open than the current one as of now. Some sections of the map were entirely removed to make the map more spacious and open, which included adding several revamped and new spots in the map such as the old sandbox spot being replaced for a room including a large sauropod fossil and a new sandbox at the side of the room, and the dinosaur exhibit in the projection room being used to make more space in the map.
Old Rainbow Room Variant 4 Layout
In v0.9.1 the Fourth Variant of the Rainbow Room was reworked to have more doorways, new rooms and expanded old rooms too. It removed some walls and even entire rooms like the one near the bookshelves.
Old Greenhouse Variant 2 Layout
In v0.12.1, the Second Variant of the Greenhouse was reworked to have 2 extra rooms which were expanded from 2 inaccessible rooms. It also expanded and removed some obstacles as well. Finally, the Toon Handler portraits were moved to the center of the map instead of being next to one of the Elevators.
Gardenview Hallway B2
In the Dandy's World teaser where the old
Dandy model was seen, there is also an unseen floor in the clip called the Gardenview Hallway B2 in the video's description, showing a long hallway with a non-visible doorway at the end, and 2 large dark wooden doors on the side covered with what looks to be
Ichor. Due to the teaser not being gameplay footage, this hallway was only made specifically for the teaser. The room is also seen to be very moldy, especially while in development.
Art Decorations
Posters
Updated Artworks
In v0.10.1 15 of the Posters were redone due to Qwel wanting to update them since she has improved her art skills over the 1 year since Dandy's World was released. While some posters were just given a refresh update, with them all having thicker outlines on the Toons and the text to make them pop out more and larger pupils, some add in Toons that were not in the original posters or update the environment or completely change the structure of the original. In v0.11.1 the "Dining Section" poster and both "Diner Menus" was changed. In v0.13.14, "Pebble In Day Out" poster was changed.
Here is what changed for each Poster:
- "Astro in Stage Fright" poster added
Looey and
Razzle & Dazzle into the sides and gave
Astro a more worried look.
Scraps has a new pose and closes her mouth, as well as her getting eyelashes.
Brightney also was completely changed, with a different pose and face reaction.
Pebble's eyes have been changed to give him pitch black pupils instead of the grey seen in the old poster.
- "Astro in Stage Fright" poster covered in Ichor has the same changes, with Ichor covering the Toon's faces and the Ichor covering the letters to only show "F█IGHT". This version of the poster was never used in game.
- "Dandy in Showtime Panic" poster had the text for "Showtime" and "in" recolored from pink to light blue and the text for "Panic" and 7/21/2002" was recolored from light cyan to Pink. The smear lines are also rainbow and thicker and
Dandy's reflection is lighter.
- "Dandy in Showtime Panic" poster covered in Ichor has the same changes. The only minor difference is that the new version looks like an Ichor spill, having tiny circles around the poster and not completely black, while the other one looks deliberately painted.
- "Dream Big with Astro" poster gave the text a light to dark blue gradient and made Astro be a bit more upright. His blanket is also opened to show his shirt. The clouds Astro stands on are also outlined.
- "Plant Kindness with Dandy and Pebble" poster outlined the text, made the rainbow more faint, added another flower garden at the bottom right and made
Pebble actually look at the flower Dandy is planting. - "Discover Fun with Shelly" poster made the background more tan and added bones scattered around to mimic an actual archaeology site and reposed
Shelly to stand up and raise her hands up. The text is also a lot more yellow. The background also loses the sun. - "Bake Memories with Sprout" poster added more cupcakes, made the cupcakes strawberry to match with the cupcake used in
Sprout's Active Ability,
Baked Sweets, Sprout is facing to the left and is no longer holding a cupcake, the text went from pink and white letters to being a gradient from red to white, a sun is added at the background, the mat Sprouts sits on now has different colored squares instead of a white and pink grid and the flowers on the field were removed. - "Win Prizes with Vee" poster added wires coming from the microphone scattered around the stage.
Vee also reposed to look like she is talking. The background is a lot more full and the text has a green to dark green gradient. Her microphone is also darker now and her antennas mimic her Toon counterpart. Also, the green spotlights were removed and the background garments were thicker. - "Shelly Staff Only Area" sign oriented Shelly's shell correctly and changed her pose to look like she is standing up.
- "Astro Staff Only Area" sign made the background a bit more orange, pulled Astro's blanket down to make it cover more of his legs and pushed his legs together. He also has a more timid look.
- "Boxten, Razzle & Dazzle, Rodger and Goob" poster made Razzle & Dazzle put their hands on
Goob, Goob hugs
Rodger and sticks his tongue out, made Rodger repose and made Boxten a bit less awkward. The Toons' shadows were removed and an oval was added to the background. - "Brightney, Scraps, Flutter and Poppy" poster made Brightney extend her right arm out, made Scraps' tail visible, pushed them closer to
Poppy and
Flutter, made Flutter sit the other way, closed Scraps' mouth and opened Poppy's. Like the previous poster, the shadows were moved and an oval was added at the background. - "Join us in Gardenview Dining Section" poster was completely changed. Sprout and Pebble are reposed such that they are looking at us. Pebble is on the plate Sprout's holding, moving the orange juice up and removing the original glass on Pebble. The background is now white with a rainbow, checkerboard oval. All the text is now colored black and uses Comic Sans. The poster now adds a disclaimer at the bottom reading "MEALS NOT INCLUDED IN ADMISSION TICKET".
- "Always Remember" poster makes Dandy no longer hold a flower, colored all the flowers rainbow, shut Dandy's mouth, and capitalized all the words.
- "Always Remember" poster covered in Ichor has the same changes. The only minor difference is that the new version looks like an Ichor spill, having tiny circles around the poster and not completely black, while the other one is completely filled. This version of the poster was never used in game.
- "Have Fun!" poster removes Dandy's foot prints, added a shadow for Dandy, enclosed Dandy in an oval and made the surrounding background a light blue checkerboard. The text is also a gradient now instead of solid colors. He also looks up now.
- "Smile!" poster made Vee's face outlines less thin and made the colors a bit lighter. Some of her features are flipped and her blush has cheeks now. The text also has a checker pattern on it and has a gradient.
- "Dining Section" poster made it look a lot less like a menu, replacing the grey stripes with checker squares. Sprout looks at us now and
Cosmo winks too. Sprout's body is also a lot more rounder, Cosmo's left leg is repositioned and the scarf is moved down. The bullets in there are removed and replaced "Feast on Delictable Goods" with "It's delictable" to make the spelling mistake more apparent. Also, Sprout's cupcake is no longer lit. Finally, stripes leading to the new stars were added. - The Diner Menus both have more detail, with a checkerboard pattern at the back, MENU being circled, and some details being bigger. The menu items were also sectioned more clearly.
- "Diner Menu" specifically adds more pepperoni to the Razzle & Dazzle pizza, changed the
Toodles coconut water into the Toodles chocolate balls and reorientates the Cosmo brownie. Additionally, the mouth for the Astro cookie looks to be a bit more squiggly, like icing. - "Second Diner Menu" specifically removes one of the "meatball hands" on the Goob spaghetti, makes the Vee Juice close its eyes and have a more cat like mouth, enlarges Dandy's pupils, adds red sauce to the
Shrimpo shrimp and removed the '>:(' card and tray there.
- "Diner Menu" specifically adds more pepperoni to the Razzle & Dazzle pizza, changed the
- "Pebble In Day Out" TBA, Furthermore, the episode's "Playing On" In the poster was changed from "4/14/2001" to "4/8/2001".
Kids' Drawings
On the Floors, multiple kid's drawings can be found as decorations. Six of these kid's drawings were done by the fired developer and have since been replaced with new art by Qwel in v0.4.2.
Astro Trading Card
In the Gift Shop Floor there was an
Astro Trading Card used as decoration, but due to the artwork being done by the fired developer, it has been redrawn by Qwel and replaced in v0.4.2.
Swimmy Barnaby! Sign
In v0.10.2 the Swimmy Barnaby! arcade sign was fixed adding in
Finn's chipped tooth.
Rainbow Pumpkin Decoration
On the
Pumpkins texture, there is a rainbow taking up half the texture. This part of the texture was meant to be used for a rainbow Pumpkin decoration, though it ended up being scrapped due to Qwel not liking the design and being unable to find a place to use it in the Halloween Lobby and the Holloway Graveyard, likely due to the fact the rainbow design would look out of place compared to the other decorations.
Game Mechanics
Stats
Astro's Movement Speed Increase
Before Mains were given an extra Star in v0.2,
Astro had 2
Movement Speed. It was bumped up to 3 after the aforementioned update.
Pebble's Skill Check Increase
Before Mains were given an extra Star in v0.2,
Pebble had 2
Skill Check, making him the second slowest Extractor. It was bumped up to 3 after the aforementioned update. At that time, he still was the second slowest Extractor, until
Bassie and
Blot were added.
Vee's Stamina Increase
Before Mains were given an extra Star in v0.2,
Vee had 2
Stamina. It was bumped up to 3 after the aforementioned update.
Shrimpo's Skill Check Change
During the game's release,
Shrimpo had a natural Skill Check chance of 50%. This was at the time the only way to obtain a higher Skill Check chance. However, by v0.2 his chances were nerfed to the normal 25%.
Gigi's Stat Swap
For a few hours after v0.4,
Gigi had 1
Movement Speed and 3 Star Stamina. This was swapped due to complaints about the gameplay.
Bobette's Stat Change
A day after v0.6.1,
Bobette had 5
Skill Check and 2 Star Movement Speed. This was changed by moving one of her Skill Check stars to her Movement Speed stat, now giving her 4 Star Skill Check and 3 Star Movement Speed.
Yatta's Skill Check Change
When she released,
Yatta had a natural Skill Check chance of 20%. However, it was soon patched to the normal 25%.
Abilities
Mechanics
Old Nap Time
Originally,
Astro's old Active Ability had a cooldown of 75 seconds, but in v0.13.14, it was reduced to 60 seconds.
Old Well Rested
Originally,
Astro's old Passive Ability only regenerated Stamina 50% faster, but in v0.4.1, Well Rested was buffed to also allow Astro to see Toons under 50% Stamina, and in v0.13.14, the ability was adjusted to show the exact percentage of Toons' Stamina.
Old Artistic Inspiration
Brusha's Toggle Ability,
Artistic Inspiration, originally gave a 25% Skill Check boost to any Toon in her radius when activated. In v0.11.4 it was nerfed to only give the boost for 10 seconds, but the nerf was later reverted in v0.11.5 as it didn't work. In 0.12.1 her Ability was buffed to give a 50% Skill Check boost to any Toon in radius when her Ability is activated.
Active Fetch/Sniff
Pebble's old Active Ability,
Fetch, previously would have highlighted all Items (including Research Capsules and
Tapes). However, it was changed from an Active Ability to a Passive Ability in v0.3. This Ability also had a placeholder icon, with a comical close-up photo of a raccoon. This Ability also used to be called
Sniff. This Ability was later carried over to Coal, with the Ability now being
Scout. It's effect was altered to being able to highlight all Items for all other players, with the cooldown being increased from 30 seconds to 100 seconds.
Pebble's old Ability, Fetch, was later changed to a Passive Ability.
Survival Instincts
Pebble's old Passive Ability, Survival Instincts, would originally give the player a 25% boost in Stamina and Stealth when they dropped to one heart, for as long as they were on one heart. This, however, would become a problem for Pebble as it would make it harder to keep Twisteds with you due to the stealth increase, so it was replaced with an Passive version of Fetch in v0.3.
Toggle Comedy/Tragedy
Razzle & Dazzle's Passive Ability, Comedy/Tragedy, was going to be changed over to a Toggle Ability in a future update. The Passive Ability has 1
Extraction Speed and 5 Star Movement Speed on odd numbered Floors while switching the two Stats on even numbered floors, but the Toggle Ability would have allowed players to switch between each of the Stats manually, which could've made playing them easier to support. However, this is not the case since Qwel decided to scrap this idea, but the idea of a Toon having a Toggle Ability was later given to
Brusha and (partially)
Bassie.
Old Crafty Grapple
Originally,
Scraps's Active Ability,
Crafty Grapple, could only grapple onto other Toons and had a 30 second cooldown, However in v0.4, the cooldown was lowered to 25 seconds and in v0.7.1, she became able to grapple onto Machines too.
Old Tea Time
Originally,
Teagan's Active Ability,
Tea Time, needed 100
Tapes to heal herself. However, this was lowered to 75 Tapes in v0.10.1, probably to make Teagan a more viable option to play as.
Old Tidy Up!
Originally,
Tisha's Active Ability,
Tidy Up!, boosted others Movement Speed by 33%. However, in v0.2.1, it was lowered down to 25%.
Old Mic Check
When she was released,
Vee's Active Ability,
Mic Check, only highlighted Twisteds with a 60 second cooldown. However, in v0.10.1, it was lowered to a 50 second cooldown. It was further buffed in v0.13.1,to let her also highlight Machines alongside Twisteds.
Old Camera Hijack
Originally,
Vee's Passive Ability, Camera Hijack, only highlighted one Machine and its completion. This was later buffed to show 2 Machines in v0.10.1, probably because when she was extracting, Camera Hijack would only highlight the Machine she was doing, making it useless.
Visuals
Nap Time Texture
Astro's original
Nap Time texture featured a crescent moon in the middle, along with two of what looks like to be the current Nap Time Ability texture, one ring being slightly smaller than the other. The current version of Astro's Nap Time Ability is somewhat similar to the unused one, though the moon is no longer there and only has one ring instead of two.
Precious Packaging Bobette
When
Bobette's Active Ability,
Precious Packaging, was used, the present that appears was originally going to have eyes on it. This could have probably meant that Bobette would physically turn into a present, rather than boxing herself in. This was later changed to remove the eyes, likely to make it look like Bobette makes and hides in a package. Bobette physically turning into a present also wouldn't have made much sense lore-wise, since it would imply that Bobette could potentially shapeshift. Another possible reason is that it could have been creepy and uncanny to some, as well as causing controversy.
Festive Aura Effects
Bobette's Passive Ability Festive Aura was originally going to have a green aura-like effect around Bobette. This was removed in-game, probably because it would be a bit cluttering alongside the current Festive Aura circle.
Sharing is Caring Cookie Models
For an unknown reason, in v0.11.1,
Cosmo's cookie projectiles seen when using
Sharing is Caring were changed to the default version for all Skins.
Baked Sweets Cupcake Models
For an unknown reason, in v0.11.1,
Sprout's cupcake models seen when using
Baked Sweets were changed to the default version for all Skins.
Twisted Mechanics
Twisted Connie
In the October 17th, 2024 stream, Qwel mentioned what
Twisted Connie's mechanic was going to be, in the stream Qwel said that Twisted Connie would hide in Machines and would attack the players after they failed a Skill Check. This mechanic was scrapped in-game, instead of attacking players when failing a skill check, she would attack players once they start extracting a possessed Machine.
Twisted Glisten
Prior to
Twisted Glisten's release, he had been intended to be portrayed as a trickster of sorts, luring in Players, but instead Twisted Glisten was given a bar that fills up if no one stands near him and would become enraged when it did so. It is unknown how Twisted Glisten would've lured players in but Qwel said it was useless hence why it was scrapped.
Twisted Shelly
Prior to v0.3.0,
Twisted Shelly's Debuff applied to players near her was
Confused II. Her Debuff was soon nerfed to
Confused I.
Trinkets
Many Trinkets had old abilities, some of which had different roles and then got reworked and had another Trinkets replace them.
Bone
Bone originally gave you 25% more Walk and Run Speed whenever a new Floor arrived for 10 seconds. However, this ability got replaced in v0.2 to giving 25% more speed when you pick up an Item (not including Capsules and
Tapes).
Pull Toy now replicates its old function.
Prior to v0.11.4, Bone used to not have a speed cap. However, when
Twisted Dyle was released, a Twisted not meant to be distractable, people used
Bassie to do so. This, at first, wasn't a huge issue, since it was still somewhat balanced due to it being difficult especially with Bassie's high Stealth, but players cheated using "macros" and auto-clickers to gain an unfair advantage, being able to distract Twisted Dyle without any needed skill. Therefore, Bone received a speed cap to make Twisted Dyle actually impossible without external Movement Speed boosts, despite the already difficult task of distracting him. However, this is a temporary change that will be reverted after a way to combat macro usage is found.
Crayon Set
Crayon Set originally granted three random Items from the uncommon tier (Dandy's Shop exclusive items included) at the start of a round. This effect was changed to produce an uncommon Item every new Floor if there is an inventory slot open.
Fishing Rod, similarly to Crayon Set's old function, grants three Common to Rare tier items (though Dandy's Shop-exclusive items are not included) at the start of the game.
Toy Kit
Toy Kit used to refresh your Active Ability if you were in the Elevator, though this would have counted Panic Mode timers and the short period after the Elevator opens, making it abused to speed Toons up and make their Extraction Speed immensely high, completing Floors in minutes/seconds. Therefore, it was nerfed to refresh only during intermissions.
Diary
Diary originally increased a Toon's Stealth by 2.5 units (half a
). This was changed in v0.4.0 to instead increase Stealth by 25%.
Night Cap
Night Cap originally fully restored your Stamina when entering a new Floor, but decreased max Stamina by 10%. This ability was then changed to increasing your Stamina regeneration by 33% while extracting from a Machine, later buffed to 40%. The Trinket was later scrapped entirely and replaced with the
Star Pillow Trinket, which received a further buff and now increases stamina regeneration by 100%.
Vee's Remote
Vee's Remote originally automatically finished the first Machine you extracted from a Floor no matter how many Machines were already completed, but decreased your Extraction Speed by 50%. This ability was changed to automatically completing your first machine if less than 50% of the machines on the floor have been completed to prevent players from earning insane amounts of
Ichor and speedrunning through floors unfairly.
Water Cooler
Water Cooler was given a new name and resigned in v0.10.1 with the Trinket turning red, two
Dandy Stickers being added to the side of the water cooler, and the name shortened to just
Cooler. The new design also has a longer latch, bumps on the top and a trapezoid shaped handle instead of the rectangle handler.
Blue Bandana
Prior to v0.2.0, Blue Bandana increased Skill Check Chance by 5%, but now it increases Extraction Speed by 7.5% but decreases Skill Check Chance by 5%.
Placeholder Icons
The only Trinkets to have known placeholder icons were
Speedy Shoes and
Friendship Bracelet—The Speedy Shoes icon was formerly a yellow shoe with two cyan wings, while the Friendship Bracelet icon was simply a PNG of a rainbow LOOM/rubber band bracelet.
Machines
Old Name
The Machines were originally called "Generators" during development. This was because Dandy's World is inspired by Dead by Daylight, where survivors have to complete Generators to escape. There also seemed to be an oversight in the v0.7.2 patch, the same update
Scraps got her
Crafty Grapple buff allowing attachment to Machines. During this time, if she was to latch on to Machine without line of sight it said "You need line of sight with the Generator" instead of saying "You need line of sight with the Machine".
Default Machine
Alternate Designs
In concept art for the Default Machines, there was no light to indicate if they were finished or not, but it was later added to the design to help players know if the Machines were done. There is also an alternate design of the Machine next to the final design found in the Machine's concept art; this alternate design of the Machine had four tubes going into its glass chamber which would have been where the Ichor come through to fill up the Machine instead of the final's large pipe coming in from the top, and the alternate design valve was more to the left while the final had their in the centre.
It could also be assumed that the alternate Machine would have been bounded to the wall since it is missing the bottom part of the Machine from in the final design, and might be place in the corners of Floors since the tubes in the art are placed in a way that they would need to come out of the walls in a corner on either side. The likely reason the final version was picked was because that way more Machines could spawn around the maps, unlike the alternate version, which would have needed to be placed in corners of the maps.
Early Model
There was also an early model of the Default Machines when it was still referred to as a Generator, this model is a very simple early version of the Machines final model, this model is smaller than the final being made up of a simple glass tube with rusted metal cylinders with the red light being on the bottom on the Machine instead of being on the top and there was no valve on the Machine model, even though the
Pebble shown is turning the valve.
Old Skill Check
Prior to v0.2, the Default Machine had a different Skill Check, only lacking the usual gold section. This made extracting the Machines a lot slower so the gold section was added to speed up Machine completion, and also to give more of an advantage to high Skill Check Toons, as
Shelly was releasing around the same time, and 5
Skill Check would be quite unnecessary for Machines if no added bonus was given. This would also pave the way for future Machine Types Skill Check windows.
Old Treadmill Machine Model & Skill Check
Prior to v0.12.4, the Treadmill Machine looked quite odd, with its overall design being a straight copy of the Default Machine with a new light and a treadmill slapped on it. This made some logical issues, like the logic to how the treadmill would reappear being off and a non-functional valve on it that turned sideways when
Twisted Connie entered the machine. After the update, the valve was removed and the base of the Machine was fixed to prevent bad logic, and so was the UI used for the button needed to click, also showing a timer.
The number of times to click the Skill Check was also changed, with:
- 1 Star going from 7 clicks to 8 clicks
- 2 Star going from 6 clicks to 7 clicks
- 5 Star going from 5 clicks to 4 clicks
Placeholder Sweat Particles
In the game files, there is an unused sweat particle that was seemingly was used as a placeholder for when a Toon is doing a Skill Check on a Treadmill Machine. This placeholder version used to be multiple teardrop shapes that acted the same way as the current particles, however, instead of being fully white, they were black and yellow. It is likely that these particles were used to test how the sweating animation would look in-game before being replaced with the proper particles.
Placeholder/Early Ichor Particle
Within the Dandy's World game files, an unedited version of the Ichor particle used for the dripping effect when extracting on a Machine can be seen. This texture originates from Flavor Frenzy, a tower defense that BlushCrunch developed before Dandy's World, being Roquefort's critical damage icon. When developing Dandy's World, the icon was blacked-out to represent Ichor and is stretched out in-game when extracting a Machine.
Cards
Spare Change
The
Spare Change card used to give out 25
Tapes to players, but in the v0.2 it was buffed to be 45 instead.
Placeholder Icons
While in development, the
Decency and
Electrician Cards were the only Cards shown to have placeholder icons. The former being a generic public elevator sign while the latter being a yellow and black hazard sign.
Items
Enigma Candy
In v0.7.1, the
Enigma Candy item was replaced with the
Jawbreaker. The reason why the Enigma Candy was replaced was because the item was designed by the past fired developer, and Qwel doesn't want to keep anything made by him.
Ornaments Values
After taking feedback from the community, Qwel decided to buff the number of
Ornaments earned, and after the v0.6.1 Hotfix, completing a Machine gave 5 Ornaments instead of 1 Ornament and picking up the Ornament Item gives 5 Ornaments instead of 3 Ornaments.
Tapes
Old Model
In v0.11.1, the
Tapes Item model was replaced with a new model that more accurately presents itself as a VHS Tape & matches with the Tapes Icon too.
Values
In v0.2 the amount of
Tapes earned from different tasks were nerfed with encountering a Twisted going from 5 Tapes given to 3 Tapes given, using a Toon's Active Ability going from 5 Tapes given to 3 Tapes given and picking up the Tape Item going from 10 Tapes given to to 5 Tapes given. But in v0.11.1 the amount earned from a Twisted encounter was buffed to giving 5 Tapes, though there are three Twisteds to this change, with
Twisted Connie and
Twisted Glisten still giving 3 Tapes and
Twisted Blot giving 10 Tapes.
Stickers
Alternate Designs
On the First and Second YouTube streams, a few stickers had alternate versions.
The "Hug time!" sticker had Option A with
Goob's arms bent down rather than straight. Option B was decided by viewers in a poll during stream.
"Ability on cooldown" sticker had Option A with
Vee'a face having a "restart" type of arrow, and Option B has her face more similar to a loading screen. Option B was chosen, again via a poll.
The "Cool!" sticker had 2 other versions, both with explosions in the back. Option A is more similar to the current one (excluding the explosion) and Option B had the sunglasses on
Pebble's face rather than on top of his head. Option A was chosen, without the explosion.
The "Need health?" Sticker was pretty similar to the current one, however
Cosmo's hand is a bit more outward than inward like the current version.
Lastly, The "Something is fishy..." Sticker had 2 other versions, Option A had Barnaby looking a bit more derpy and looking up rather than imitating
Finn's expression and Barnaby was sticking out the top of Finn's head, while Option B was very similar to the current one but with Barnaby doing the same pose as Finn with his lips facing forward and having his fin on his chin. The final version Barnaby was made bigger and his lips were put to face the side.
Blot Dabbing
In the second YouTube Stream that Qwel hosted, she had originally designed a Sticker of Blot dabbing after the viewers voted on a poll. However, this was removed later that day and was repurposed into a sticker/emoji for the Discord Server due to Qwel thinking it didn't make sense in-game, most likely because of the game's timeline where such a move wouldn't exist/the Toons having no way to learn what a dab is.
Label Placeholder
The "Label" Sticker was likely used as a placeholder to test if the Sticker System worked. This Sticker was never supposed to be seen by players but due to players bugging out while loading into a match when they opened the Sticker Wheel it would show the "Label" Sticker in every slot. In v0.12.4 this Sticker can no longer be seen since the image file for it was completely removed from the game.
Dandy's Store
Toon Skins
Prior to v0.11.1, Dandy's Store used to offer Skins as well as Gamepasses, Trinkets and Toon Licenses. After the release of v0.11.1, the Toon Skins section was moved to Dyle's Store. This was done in an effort to have Dandy sell gameplay tools for the player, and to have
Dyle sell purely cosmetic items.
User Interfaces
Pre-Game UI
In v0.12.1, the pre-game UI got a major revamp. Some notable changes are the player list now being located at the top instead of the left, making the search bar bigger, showing Stats and Abilities differently, a new pre-game shop where you can buy a
Bandage,
Health Kit, and/or
Valve before the round, and a "Ready Up" button. There is also now a resize button to zoom in or out on the Toon and Trinket selection menus added in v0.12.4.
Other
2022 Dandy Game Concept
Back in 2022, when Dandy's World was just a concept, the game was originally just called "Dandy". The game was first teased on the 17th of September 2022 inside of Flavor Frenzy's Skate N' Dine Map being found on a screen of an out of order arcade machine with
Dandy himself on the screen with his name above his head.
All that is known about "Dandy" was that it would have used an older design for Dandy and
Twisted Dandy, since the design of Dandy matches with the design found on the arcade machine, and possibly
Twisted Vee, as her first design matches the art style and structure as the old Dandy design concepts art. Also, the original idea for the game was going to be a horror, walking simulator, story game, while you play as your Roblox avatar. However, Qwel felt like the game idea was boring so it was completely scrapped sometime in December 2022. Whatever work had been done got remade into the re-playable experience, Dandy's World, where you actually played as the Characters instead of as a Robloxian/Humans. The game could have also taken place in modern day as the Dandy's World Teaser Trailer being earlier in the main game's development used the cancelled game's time frame, as the Teaser is a security recording from October 21st, 2023 when the main game takes place in the early 2000s.
Qwel had made multiple designs and concepts for "Dandy", but the only designs that were shared were of Dandy, Twisted Dandy and maybe Twisted Vee. It is unknown if a playable build of "Dandy" was ever made, but it is likely there wasn't since it didn't get past the pre-production stage.
While this version of the Game was scrapped, Qwel would later share she was revisiting the idea when a Teaser video for Dandy's World was posted on on her YouTube Channel on the October 31st, 2023. It is unknown what ideas and concepts were reused for Dandy's World which originated from "Dandy" other than Dandy and maybe
Vee, and the idea of corrupted forms of the game's characters.
Roleplay Mode
Toons' Designation Numbers
After v0.10.1, all the nameplates on the walls were renamed to start with SC which probably stands for Secondary Character instead of the normal C, U and R which used to stand for Common, Uncommon and Rare. This is probably to ensure the names match up with assigning Toons based on their role in the Show, with M standing for the Mains and L standing for Leader (or Lethal), and to also make it easier to know who was created in what order, as rarity is purely based on their Twisted counterparts, and designating them for the Toons' classification wouldn't fit well with the lore.
Here is a list of what each Old Designation Numbers were designated to and the new numbers:
- C-001 became SC-003 (Poppy)
- C-002 became SC-004 (Boxten)
- C-003 became SC-002 (Shrimpo)
- U-001 became SC-005 (Brightney)
- U-002A & U-002B became SC-008A & SC-008B (Razzle & Dazzle)
- R-002 became SC-007 (Glisten)
- R-004 became SC-014 (Goob)
- R-005 became SC-015 (Scraps)
Glisten's Astro Poster
After v0.10.1, inside
Glisten's room in Roleplay Mode, the "
Astro in Stage Fright" poster which had Glisten circled in red surrounded by red hearts and arrows was removed and replaced with the "Smile!" poster. This was probably because when redoing the poster artworks, Qwel decided to remove the poster to slightly change Glisten to not be as into himself and the poster of
Vee shows more of his friendship with her.
Twisted Eggson and Twisted Rudie Description
After v0.12.1,
Twisted Eggson, along with
Twisted Rudie both had their unique descriptions in Roleplay Mode removed. The reason why is currently unknown.
Gamepasses
Auto Buy Skin Tickets
On the release of v0.4, there was a Gamepass called the Auto Buy Skin Tickets to enable the option to auto buy another Skin after buying one. It was set off sale in patch 0.4.1 as the Skin Ticket buying system was reworked in favor of buying the Skins directly, causing this Gamepass to become useless.
This Gamepass was reworked into the Star-Time Cosmetic Pack due to people already buying the Gamepass before the rework. The Gamepass now grants 5 matching Skins for
Astro,
Shelly,
Vee,
Sprout, and
Pebble, all with special cosmetic effects for abilities and a particle trail.
Skin Ticket System
Initially, players would've obtained Skins by buying a "Skin Ticket". After buying a Skin Ticket, the game would automatically roll and give out a Skin from a group of Skins that the Skin Ticket corresponded to. This change was made due to lootbox/gacha mechanics being considered gambling, which is illegal in several countries and could get Dandy's World restricted on Roblox.
In v0.6.4, the Skin Tickets were fully removed and replaced with a simpler way to purchase Skins. The option in Dandy's Store went from being called the "Buy Skin Ticket" to "Buy Skins", and due to the removing of the Skin Ticket system Skins now no longer being grouped in different tickets like the Red Ticket. Instead, there is a filter that can help show Skins for each Toon separately.
UGC Items
Flutter's Wings
In the BlushCrunch Studio's Roblox Store there is an unreleased Flutter's Wings UGC which has been added to the store and has been offsale since 4 September 2024. Due to being unreleased for so long, it has now been scrapped and was replaced with a new version of the item. This newer version is brighter, smoother and slightly smaller compared to the older one.
Pebble Shoulder Buddy (Original Version)
Due to the
Pebble Shoulder Buddy UGC being deleted by Roblox for an unknown reason, a new version of the UGC has yet to be made.
Rodger Head/Mask
In a Discord poll, Qwel asked the community what they wanted the Rodger Head/Mask UGC to look like, option 1 was a thick version that would have covered the entirety of the players' head, while option 2 was a thin version which was more mask-like similar to the Glisten Head/Mask UGC. Option 2 won the poll with 83% of the 21,909 votes casted, making the thick version of the item unused.
Shelly's Head (Original Version)
Due to the
Shelly's Head UGC being deleted by Roblox for an unknown reason a new version of the UGC had to be made.
Audio
Clair De Lune (Lute Cover)
The Lute Cover of Clair De Lune was previously added by the fired developer, but Qwel denied the use of it in-game, so it laid dormant somewhere in the game's files.
Twisted Sprout Audio
In v0.11.1, when
Twisted Sprout was optimized, his footstep and losing sight audio were changed to a much crunchier, leafy sound and a gasped voice while also saying
Cosmo. Additionally, the scream that played when he first spotted a Toon was removed, with the 'Cosmo' audio for its replacement.
| Audio Type | Old | New |
|---|---|---|
| Footstep | ||
| Losing Sight | ||

Twisted Pebble Footstep Audio
In v0.12.7,
Twisted Pebble's footstep audio was changed due to an unknown bug that caused his previous footsteps to be really loud and bass boosted, to the level of potentially causing physical harm, such as ear damage or, in worse scenarios, seizures. These footstep noises were later replaced again by newer footsteps in v0.13.12, as the noises from 0.12.7 were so quiet that it was incredibly hard to tell he was on floor.
| Audio Type | Oldest | Old | New |

Changelog Board Link
In the v0.9.5 update, a Changelog Board was added to the Lobby, which included an invite link to the BlushCrunch Studio Discord server at the bottom. Roblox saw this link as against their guidelines, most likely because social media links are only supposed to be visible to 13+ Roblox users. This led to the game being taken down for an hour and 17 minutes and the link being removed.
Thumbnails
v0.12.1 Thumbnail
A few days after the 2025 Halloween Event, v0.12.1's thumbnail was replaced with a new one. The new thumbnail is similar to the old one, though
Glisten is no longer there,
Pebble now has his normal expression instead of looking up at the machine and smiling,
Shelly's eyes are closed and her Ability sparks are visible, the game logo is placed at the right corner, and finally the lighting is brighter. The thumbnail additionally appears to be more zoomed in than the old one.
Sign Up Sheet
In v0.13.1, the Update Sign Up sign was added and can be found to the right of Lobby's entrance/spawn left of the Changelog Board. One part of the Update Sign Up sign was a sheet with sign up signatures, but in the game files, a different texture for the sheet is found. The unused texture's only difference is that there was a scribble to represent a date and the signatures are readable with 2 clearly saying Qwel as an Easter Egg. Also, unlike the unused texture, the used "sign up" text appears drawn instead of digitally made. Also, the text has duller colors in the used one. For an unknown reason, this texture was left unused.
Fill Party Button
On the release of Matchmaking in v0.10.1 and during testing, the button that sent you into a queue to find a match said "Fill Party". In v0.13.13 when Matchmaking was re-implemented for the third time, it now says "Join Matchmaking". The old buttons still appear when entering into Roleplay Mode, but this is likely an oversight/bug.
