|
Twisted Gourdy is one of the 40 Twisteds in Dandy's World. He was introduced on October 10, 2025, alongside
Twisted Eclipse,
Twisted Ribecca, and
Twisted Soulvester. He is one of the 8 Main Character Twisteds and one of 12 Holiday Twisteds and can spawn on Floor 5 above during a Halloween Event, guaranteed on Floor 20.
Upon 100% completion of his Research, you will acquire the
Memory Locket Trinket.
Appearance
Twisted Gourdy, while in his passive state, is nearly identical to his
Toon counterpart, except having small red pupils inside the white iris, Ichor coming out of his eyes, in the form of tears, and a small splotch of Ichor on his head. Upon enraging, Twisted Gourdy takes into the form of a centaur-esque beast, (Similar to
Twisted Shelly) with the upper half of his chest being a darker shade of orange, and the stomach and legs being covered in Ichor, having six Ichor-covered legs, with three on each side, the smile being replaced with a frown, and the white pupils being turned into a glowing red. Upon spotting a Toon, Twisted Gourdy becomes more distressed and his pupils will shrink in size.
Personality
In his passive state, Gourdy seems to plead for someone to comfort him (though with Items instead of actual company mechanic wise, unlike
Twisted Glisten, but he still seems to want the player's company evidenced by some of his Panic Mode berserk dialogue). He also appears to be quite grateful whenever a player gifts him an Item, as if he was desperate for anything to hold out before turning fully twisted. Reflecting his
Toon counterpart, Twisted Gourdy still misses his parents, evidenced by how he calls out their names when going berserk.
Twisted Gourdy seems to be afraid people will forget about him, as confirmed with one of his half-bar full dialogue. After feeding him an Item, one of his dialogues seems like he is relieved you didn't forget. Its extremely likely he has a fear of being forgotten according to his dialogues.
Description
Twisted Gourdy, upon spawning, speaks once as a Toon enters the Floor (specifically 5 or higher), being guaranteed to spawn on Floor 20. Similar to
Twisted Glisten, he has a rage meter on his head, but needs items for it to decrease. The bar turns red when the bar reaches 75% and flickers at 90%. Upon enraging, he gains a huge speed boost and becoming hostile for the rest of the floor while dealing 1
upon damaging a player. Unlike Twisted Glisten, who roams around the map, Twisted Gourdy is a stationary one. He also has higher speed than Twisted Glisten and
Twisted Pebble when enraged (26) which nearly matches 4
Run Speed, and 32.5 in Panic Mode, making him the fastest Twisted in-game, depending on whether or not you count
Twisted Dyle's max speed, due to it being variable.
Strategies
Twisted Gourdy acts similarly to
Twisted Glisten in the sense that players must monitor a bar's drainage before the Twisted will aggro. His bar increases slower and he stays stationary until angered, yet his needs may be more costly depending on your inventory.
Gigi and
Cocoa are the only Toons able to permanently sustain his passivity so long as they keep feeding him.
Players must give Gourdy Items to keep him passive. Twisted Gourdy's meter restarts completely if any Item is given, no matter the value. Much like Twisted Glisten, once his meter completely fills, there is no way to revert it. Note that once all Machines are completed and Panic Mode is activated, Gourdy will aggro no matter what. Ensure that any teammates have distanced themselves from him before you complete the last Machine.
Gourdy will always take the Item in the first slot available. Assuming you've used the optimal inventory arrangement, your important Items like
Bandages or
Health Kits should be safe in your second or third slots. Not doing so could put your valuable Items in danger. Similarly,
Twisted Gigi also takes your Items in slot order, so it is recommended to consistently try and arrange your Items correctly during runs to ensure the least valued Items are lost first.
Since less Items spawn when less players are present, Twisted Gourdy is balanced to have his meter increase slower depending on the amount of players alive when the Floor begins. If he is to spawn when there's one player left, it will take 3 minutes for his bar to fill without player intervention. However, if 4 out of 5 players were to die on the Floor he spawned, the last remaining player will only have about 106 seconds (slightly longer than 1 minute) before Twisted Gourdy becomes enraged.
Tips:
- Because every item will drain Gourdy’s bar equally, players should wait for the bar to fill a bit before giving an Item to Gourdy, though waiting too long could risk his aggro.
- Tell teammates if you are on the last Machine with GTE (or its Sticker) or stay away if you're not extracting.
- If you plan to have him enrage while next to you, always make sure you are next to an island, so that when he sees you, you will be able to get away and be safe. If possible, also use a speed Item as his Run Speed is quite high.
Recommended Toons to accompany Twisted Gourdy are:
Bassie: Her 4 inventory slots can help hold any useless Items, so when Twisted Gourdy appears, Bassie will have the Items ready, and if necessary, she can use her Active Ability to drop and rearrange her inventory to protect her own valuable items. Her high mobility will also assist her in escaping him once he enrages.
Blot: In case Twisted Gourdy enrages, Blot can use
Blot Jr. to stun Twisted Gourdy, giving teammates time to escape him. Similar to Bassie, his high speed and Stamina will help him escape Gourdy when he enrages.
Brightney: Her Ability can help locate Twisted Gourdy and other dangerous Twisteds so that if a Toon is lost and Twisted Gourdy is close to enraging, they can return to him, while avoiding dangerous Twisteds, and feed an Item to him. However, note her Ability works in Blackouts only, though her good Extraction can make Floors finish faster and her 1
Stealth can help save vulnerable Toons.
Bobette (Situational): Her Active Ability is able to make her safe from Twisted Gourdy in case he enrages. However, due to her being stationary, other potentially more dangerous Twisteds can approach her right after her Active Ability finishes which would cause issues. However, her good mobility can make escapes easier, though her higher Stamina may not be as useful as having higher Movement Speed.
Coal: Her Active Ability
Scout can highlight all Items currently on the Floor to help her teammates find Items easily and feed them to Twisted Gourdy. Additionally, her 4 Star Movement Speed and Stamina Stats can help her get away more easily from Twisted Gourdy.
Connie (Situational): Similar to Bobette, Connie is able to become invisible to avoid Twisted Gourdy's attacks. However, due to her low speed, reaching the Elevator could be troublesome, especially if Twisteds are nearby. Her high Stealth somewhat mitigates it, but doesn't help too much.- Cocoa : Her Ability allows her to drop
BonBons to teammates or to herself, and feed them to Gourdy while passive. The Movement Speed and Extraction Speed boost can also make Floor progression faster and running from Twisteds easier.
Finn (Situational): In case Finn is near Twisted Gourdy and he has the last Machine/he is far from the Elevator, the speed boost from his Passive Ability can help him get back safely.- Gigi (Situational): Because of her
Active Ability, Gigi can roll for a random item and discard any useless items in her item slot. However, she may roll something worth of value instead and be forced to give it up to Twisted Gourdy.
Pebble: Similar to Coal, his Passive can highlight nearby Items, though the highlights are only visible to him. This can be countered however, just by leading your teammates to the Items. Pebble can pick them up himself (unless his inventory is full) anyways.
Shelly (Situational): Like Finn, her speed boost can help her with escaping Twisted Gourdy, though its less potent than Finn's Reel In Passive.
Vee: Similar to Brightney, her Ability can help locate all the Twisteds on the Floor, making traversal to Machines and Twisted Gourdy safer. In addition, her good Extraction and her also being able to locate Machines can make Floor progression a lot faster, though her lackluster mobility can make it hard for her to move around.
Yatta: Her Passive Ability will help produce the Items needed to keep Twisted Gourdy sane, so if a Yatta is present, consider letting her do the Machines to be able to take her items and feed them to Twisted Gourdy. When he does enrage, Yatta will also be able to sustain herself against him with
Boxes o' Chocolates she gets from her Passive (though it is a bit RNG based) and get away with her 4 Star Movement Speed, though her low Stamina can cause issues.
In the unfortunate event Twisted Gourdy becomes enraged, extreme caution is key to survival, especially in Blackouts. His speed is not to be underestimated, being faster than
Twisted Pebble, and his extreme hearing radius makes failing Skill Checks practically a death sentence. If expected to distract him, he can be distracted by looping him around a medium-sized island. Looping is also a strategy used with Twisted Pebble where you'd take him to an island and let him see you on every turn, keeping both aggro and distance. Choosing a well sized island is important when attempting this. Having it be too big will let him catch up and too small will increases the risk of him turning around. Due to Gourdy's big hitbox, this will slow him down due to collisions. Be careful though due to his high speed.

- He is also the third Twisted to have a bar over his head, with the first being Twisted Glisten and the second being
Twisted Dyle, with his taking the longest to completely fill up.
- Twisted Gourdy is the first Main Character Twisted to be stationary, and currently the only one.
- Twisted Gourdy is the fastest Holiday Twisted in the game, bypassing
Twisted Coal (during Blackouts) and
Twisted Bobette.
- He is also the fastest twisted in the game, (Not counting Twisted Dyle) being faster than
Twisted Pebble in his enraged form.

- It is possible for
Twisted Razzle & Dazzle,
Twisted Blot,
Twisted Rodger and Ichor Leak puddles to overlap with passive Twisted Gourdy if they spawn with him. - Using
Vee's
Mic Check Ability,
Brightney's
Night Light Ability, and the
Party Popper Trinket while Twisted Gourdy is passive will reveal that his entire body is burrowed underground.
- The Ability also reveals that the puddle beneath Twisted Gourdy is part of his model.
- He is the first Twisted to have fully red eyes.
- Gourdy's body is similar to a Lōng, a traditional folklore dragon from the east.
- Twisted Gourdy is the fifth Twisted to be able to hear Skill Check fails,
Air Horns,
Pebble's
Speak! Ability and
Twisted Eclipse's howl from anywhere on the map. The other four are
Twisted Astro,
Twisted Vee,
Twisted Dandy and Twisted Dyle.
- Additionally, he is the first Holiday Twisted to have 9999 hearing radius.
- You can feed Twisted Gourdy while he is enraging.
- Oddly, when you do feed him whilst he enrages, he plays one of his "gifted Item" dialogues as if you fed him an Item normally. However, he doesn't turn passive and will still become hostile and attack.
- When he becomes hostile, the small puddle underneath Twisted Gourdy indicating where he spawned still stays on the ground.
- Twisted Gourdy has the most sound effects in the game at 25.
- Twisted Gourdy is the second Twisted to have a custom attack sound, the first being Twisted Bobette.
- He still seems to long for someone to be with him according to some of his dialogues, similar to his
Toon counterpart's longing for his parents. - Twisted Gourdy is the first Event Main Twisted to appear in the game's thumbnails.
- During the 2025 Halloween Event, Twisted Gourdy stayed on the Daily Twisted Board for three days in a row, from Halloween (October 31) to November 2, to make his Research grind easier for those who haven't finished.
- This means he has spent the most consecutive days on the Daily Twisted Board, tied with
Twisted Sprout.
- Though unlike with Twisted Sprout, this was done intentionally.
