Underestimating this Twisted's capabilities will be fatal. This Twisted is quite dangerous, due to his ability to outstretch his arms and snatch up Toons. If you spot this Twisted, get out of sight as soon as possible!
Twisted Research

Twisted Goob is a Rare Twisted found in Dandy's World. Upon 100% completion of his Research, you will acquire the Friendship Bracelet Trinket.

Appearance[]

Twisted Goob has a similar appearance to his Toon Counterpart, though he has sharper claws, His eyes have red scleras, black irises and smaller red pupils in the middle. He is seen crying Ichor, and his sharp teeth that’s mentioned in his interaction with Shelly can be shown. His legs are covered in Ichor, and the fluff on his forehead and cheeks is more pointed and sharp.

Description[]

Twisted Goob is a roaming Twisted that wanders the halls aimlessly. Much like how every other Twisted attacks, he will start chasing any Toon that is in his line of sight. His Ability requires line of sight with a Toon, meaning it will not drag them in if it connects through objects. After using his Ability, he won't be able to use it again for another 12 seconds. However, he is still able to hit you with a melee attack if you get too close to him.

Strategy[]

Since Twisted Goob can grab Toons at range, being alert is important when you know he is on a Floor, especially in a Blackout as he can get you while he is hiding in the darkness. Stay away from wide, open spaces, and look around before turning corners or leaving cover and duck behind something the second he pauses.

His Ability will fail if the Toon leaves of his line of sight and you can tell this if he appears to pull you but doesn't or he only pulls a little far. This either means ducking behind cover or outranging him. Thus, Speed Candies, Boxes o' Chocolate, and Eject Buttons or Toon Abilities such as Flutter or Rudie's have the potential to save you if you notice him in time when he spots you. If you can't reach cover, run directly away from him to hope to escape his range.

When Twisted Goob uses his Ability, he is stalled for a few moments. Therefore, if you know it's impossible to avoid being detected, approach the edge of your current cover, let him see you, and quickly duck back behind it so his Ability misses and you have time to get away. This will put his Ability on cooldown and let you run away as normal.

When Distracting Twisted Goob, be wary not only of his Ability but the amount of time he is stalled. This can mess with your looping pattern. Giving yourself additional space to move around him if you are Distracting multiple Twisteds is important; pay attention to when he's about to use his Ability and use Stamina to duck around a corner if you suspect he's about to use it because distracting him and other Twisteds could be quite risky if you don't know what you're doing.

Trivia[]

  • Twisted Goob can pull Toons towards himself, and vice versa with Twisted Scraps, just like their playable counterparts.
    • However, Twisted Scraps does not move towards Toons during her attack; she only damages them.
  • Twisted Goob is the first and currently only Twisted which can directly move a Toon. However, his ability does not damage you, yet he can use his melee attack right after, which is what actually makes you lose a heart.
  • Twisted Goob, Twisted Razzle & Dazzle (although only Dazzle) and Twisted Astro are the first Twisteds to not smile and appear to be crying, with the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh being Twisted Cosmo, Twisted Glisten, Twisted Sprout, Twisted Connie and Twisted Rudie.
  • In the first encounter with Twisted Goob on any Floor, he will always start to attack with his Ability.
  • Even though it's obviously dangerous, Twisted Goob himself can be used as a replacement for his Toon counterpart to pull other Toons to certain areas. This can include the Elevator, or just Machines.
  • In his concept art Twisted Goob's hands are much larger than his Toon counterpart, this was supposed to be replicated in game as well but couldn't be due to them not functioning properly.
  • Players can defend against Twisted Goob's and Twisted Scraps' attack if they have the Cardboard 'Armor' trinket equipped.
  • Twisted Goob's ability can also be bypassed by Bobette, as her active ability can cancel Twisted Goob's pulling before she takes a heart.
  • Twisted Goob is the slowest Rare Twisted in the game, tying with Twisted Scraps.
  • He once appeared on the Daily Twisted Board twice in a row.
