"This Twisted has had his sturdy ego completely shattered, and is on the verge of being overcome by Ichor. His fear and loneliness should be treated by being by his side. It is not advised to leave him to succumb to his affliction."
Twisted Research

Twisted Glisten is a Rare Twisted found in Dandy's World. Upon 100% completion of his Research, you will acquire the Vanity Mirror Trinket.

Appearance[]

When Twisted Glisten is passive, he appears to be a broken mirror, with a ribbon tying his arms together. His makeup is smudged, and appears to be almost crying. There is Ichor on his arms and some on his torso. In his Enraged state, he starts crying Ichor, his eyes become more red, and he breaks free from the ribbon tied on his arms.

Description[]

Twisted Glisten is quite a unique Twisted, roaming peacefully at the start of the Floor, unable to harm Toons. He needs to be accompanied by normal Toons to keep him calm- when one is in the vicinity, his meter will not fill up. If no Toons are around him for too long and his meter fills, he becomes Enraged, gaining extreme Speed and becoming violent for the rest of the Floor. He will enrage instantly during Panic Mode.

Glisten will speak to Toons, immediately talking once the Floor has begun as a warning, and then twice after that at (twice being the minimum), once when the meter is almost full, and once when he is Enraged.

Strategies[]

A good Strategy is to put a designated Toon in charge of watching Twisted Glisten. This allows the rest of the team to focus on the Floor as normal.

As Twisted Glisten is not very fast when in his Passive state, most Toons should be capable of accompanying him. He wanders around aimlessly, sometimes into the path of other Twisteds, so if babysitting/accompanying him, be aware of your surroundings. His meter does not fill very quickly, so leaving him alone for a little while to escape other Twisteds or when a teammate is on the last Machine is viable. If he wanders into the path of a Distractor, don't go too close- wait for him to leave their area and resume accompanying him.

As he instantly Enrages when the last Machine is completed, good communication is key. Alert your teammates when you're on the last or even second-to-last Machine to ensure Twisted Glisten's Distractor is not caught off-guard. When the last Machine is being readied, you should make your way away from him. It's better to use the trinket, Vanity Mirror because it helps him escape from his Enraged form.

If you're doing a Solo Run, it's recommended to stay near him and do Machines as you come across them. If he's getting far away from your current Machine, quit Extracting and resume following him. Once only one Machine remains on the Floor, ditch him and Extract it. Another Solo Run Strategy is waiting until his 50% Dialogue appears and wait beside him until it's on 0% again, then Extract Machines and repeat this process until the last. This Strategy works better on maps with more visibility and with faster Toons/Vee, as during Blackouts he can prove difficult to track down again, a Toon such as Rodger can help during a Blackout by using the lense wich helps in seeing a Twisted such as Glisten can help finding him. It's also highly recommended to wait until he's far away from the Elevator to enter Panic Mode. Regardless, whether alone or with friends, trying to prime the closest Machine to the elevator to finish last is a great idea.

Since keeping Twisted Glisten calm is a high priority, Toons with high Stealth such as Astro, Distractors that can ditch (or simultaneously Distract) any followers, and Supporter Toons with low Extraction are good picks when trying to occupy him. It is extremely important to find Twisted Glisten as fast as possible because his passive state will only last 70 seconds without anyone accompanying him.

Recommended Toons to accompany Twisted Glisten are:

  • Flutter: Flutter's Active Ability allows her to dash away from Twisted Glisten when he becomes Enraged at the end.
  • Finn: Finn's Passive at the end will grant him a Speed Boost, as well as enough time after all the Machines have been completed.
  • Shelly: Like Finn, Shelly's Passive after every Machine is completed will speed her up during Panic Mode, letting her outrun Twisted Glisten.
  • Cosmo: Since Cosmo has both high Stealth and Stamina, he can run from Twisted Glisten with a low chance of being hit during Panic Mode.
  • Scraps (Situational): Scraps' Active Ability lets her grapple to a nearby teammate, letting her escape Twisted Glisten.
  • Glisten (Situational): His Active Ability lets him be a perfect solution to his Twisted Counterpart, as he can teleport to a teammate when the time is necessary.
  • Astro (Situational): If a higher-speed Toon is able to help take over with Twisted Glisten, Astro is a great fix to watch him. As aforementioned, Astro has high Stealth, so he can escape from Twisted Glisten easily in Panic Mode.
  • Shrimpo (Situational): Since he really isn't good for much else, one can just have the resident hater sit by Glisten while the team's more practical members work on the floor. You'll have to keep him notified on when to get away from him though, as Shrimpo can barely outrun common Twisteds, let alone Glisten when enraged.

Do note that Twisted Glisten will outrun most Toons during Panic Mode. Though this is an estimate, his Speed is around 31 in Toon Stats during Panic Mode.[1] This means even Pebble might have difficulty escaping him without Items or Speed Trinkets.

Trivia[]

  • He is the first, and currently the only Twisted with Dialogue.
  • He is the 3rd Twisted to have two states, being his Passive state and his Enraged state. (The first and second being Twisted Razzle & Dazzle and Twisted Rodger).
  • Twisted Glisten's state could be reflective of the process of Ichor's corruption, as while every other Toon is akin to a mindless animal, Glisten is still capable of speaking and is very aware of his frightening situation. Glisten could either simply be at the last state of "Twisting", succumbing to animalistic urges, or Glisten's mental fortitude is very strong.
  • Twisted Glistens' hands are tied together, but he breaks free when enraged.
    • Noticeably, once Twisted Glisten becomes enraged, his eyes turn more red than they originally were, and he starts crying Ichor.
  • Twisted Glisten was the first Twisted to appear on the Daily Twisted Board.
  • It's been proven you don't need to enrage Twisted Glisten to gain 5% Research (10% as Rodger). Just being in his line of sight, even while passive, will award you the Research.
  • Twisted Glisten's makeup is running.
    • This is juxtaposed with Glisten who says, in a Dialogue with Boxten, "That's right, [my makeup is] always perfect."
  • Twisted Glisten is slower to upset the less alive Toons there are. This makes taking care of Glisten during solo runs slightly easier as the time until he becomes enraged is exactly 80 seconds.
  • Because of Twisted Glisten's mechanic of requiring Toons to stay near him, the community has nicknamed the activity of doing so "babysitting" Twisted Glisten.

  1. Used Sprout + Dog Plush and got outpaced by him (speed stat of 30.25). Used Astro + Vanity Mirror and outran him (speed stat of 32.5). Thus, his Speed during Panic Mode is *likely* between those numbers. Since I don't recall if the Suppression Card was picked for either data point, his true speed could be higher.
