| “ | One of the Main Characters of Dandy's World. Overwhelmed by guilt and despair, this Twisted puts his grief on others. If you fail a Skill Check while on a machine and hide from him, Astro will steal completion from that Machine. Skill Check carefully! | ” |
| — Twisted Research
|
Twisted Astro is one of the 40 Twisteds in Dandy's World. He was introduced on June 14, 2024. He is one of the 8 Main Character Twisteds and can spawn on Floor 5 above.
Upon 100% completion of his Research, you will acquire the
Star Pillow Trinket.
Appearance
Twisted Astro is larger than his
Toon counterpart. He appears to be crying Ichor, but only on the right side of his face. Both of his eyes are red, including his left star eye. His blanket is ripped, revealing his four arms and black shorts. There is Ichor on his upper right arm, his lower left arm, and his right leg. His nightcap is also larger, dragging along the floor. The bottom of the nightcap is entirely coated in Ichor. When idle or walking, he holds two of his hands to his face, seemingly trying to either wipe away his tears or hide them. Also, the tip of his nightcap will twitch every few seconds when idle. His face becomes seemingly more traumatized when chasing a Toon.
Description
Twisted Astro is a large, roaming Twisted that wanders the floors aimlessly. Reflecting his support-oriented counterpart, his unique ability allows him to regress Machine progress after he is alerted by a missed Skill Check. Astro will drain about half the current progress of the machine, meaning he'll have a small effect on barely completed machines and a large one on machines that are almost completed. Twisted Astro will also give the
Tired III Debuff if you are being chased by him, reducing your Stamina Regeneration by 75%.
Strategies
If you want to outrun this Twisted, it's recommended to get Movement Speed or Stamina Items like
Speed Candies,
Stamina Candies and
Protein Bars, etc. However, his speed was slightly buffed as of the 0.4.0 Update, now being slightly faster than most Common Twisteds (Matching the speed of
Twisted Gigi and
Twisted Yatta). Thus, making it harder to do so.
Twisted Astro can detect sounds from anywhere on the Floor, which includes
Air Horn s,
Pebble's
Active Ability upon use, and failed Skill Checks.
Comparatively, Twisted Astro is not as hard to distract as the other Main Character Twisteds, as his
Tired III Debuff isn't too struggling to deal with. Unless you are distracting, you're going to be using Stamina to run away from him either way, though after escape the debuff will make your Stamina regeneration slower and leave you more vulnerable to other Twisteds. On the other hand, distracting him on his own isn't too bad as his speed is just barely above average. However, if paired with Twisteds such as
Twisted Vee, combined with his Debuff can cause conflicts as it'll lead you to run out of Stamina much sooner and potentially take a hit or even die. In this occasion, it's important to carry Stamina items such as
Pops,
Bottles o' Pop,
Chocolate,
Stamina Candies or
Protein Bars. Having
Astro on your team is a huge help as his Ability can restore your Stamina, though it can be situational with the long cooldown.
Bobette's Passive can also help, although it's not recommended, as it won't completely nullify the debuff. Her below-average Stealth can also lead to bigger problems, unless Bobette is equipped with
Diary, or you have
Scrapbook, and in both scenarios you are a 2
Stealth Toon.
Dog Plush paired with a 4 Star Movement Speed Toon lets them out-walk him, though by a little, making the debuff useless, unless other faster Twisteds are chasing you like
Twisted Toodles or Twisted Shelly.
Even though in some cases it's not that bad, Twisted Astro's Tired Debuff can be a hassle, even when not distracting. If you manage to escape him but are still under the effects of the Tired III Debuff, there is a chance you might get seen again, but this time you will be out of stamina. Toons like
Yatta and
Gigi should be extremely careful when dealing with Twisted Astro, as their low Stamina will go down quickly and its regeneration will be very slow. However, Yatta's high mobility makes the Tired III a non-threat, but Gigi, on the other hand, will have trouble.
Pink Bow is an okay option for her, but once she's out of Stamina, you want to hope you can cut a corner to lose chase.
If you are distracting as
Looey, Twisted Astro will be much less difficult, especially with Dog Plush, since he can outwalk Twisted Astro with ease along with almost all other Twisteds with the exception of
Twisted Pebble and
Twisted Dyle (though Twisted Dyle won't be an issue at all since Twisted Astro can't spawn on his Challenge Floor), depending on how many
he has, effectively nullifying his Debuff to an extent.

Toon counterpart's Main Poster, but after the Update, he got them when he was optimized. - Twisted Astro is one of the few Twisteds to be eligible for a full render change, due to his render not having his black shorts.
- Twisted Astro had been on the board on the same days the Easter and Halloween Events were going to release, therefore cutting the Event's Uncommon Twisteds' (
Twisted Flyte and
Twisted Soulvester's) times in the board.
- This did not happen in the Christmas Event.
- In the rare case of a Machine being completed at the same time a Skill Check is failed there, Twisted Astro will still run to the Machine, but completion will not be affected.
