“ | One of the Main Characters of Dandy's World. Overwhelmed by guilt and despair, this Twisted puts his grief on others. If you fail a Skill Check while on a machine and hide from him, Astro will steal completion from that Machine. Skill Check carefully! | ” |
— Twisted Research
|
Twisted Astro is a Main Character Twisted found in Dandy's World. Upon 100% completion of his Research, you will get the Night Cap Trinket.
Appearance[]
Twisted Astro is larger than his Toon counterpart. He appears to be crying Ichor but only on the right side of his face. Both of his eyes are red including his left star eye. His blanket is ripped revealing his four arms. There is Ichor on his upper right arm, his lower left arm, and his right leg. His nightcap is also larger, dragging along the floor. The bottom of the nightcap is entirely coated in Ichor. When idle or walking, he holds two of his hands to his face seemingly trying to wipe away his tears or hide them. Also, the tip of his nightcap will twitch every few seconds when idle.
Description[]
Twisted Astro is a large, roaming Twisted that wanders the halls aimlessly. Reflecting his support-oriented counterpart, his unique ability allows him to regress machine progress should he be alerted by a missed Skill Check. Astro will drain about half the current progress of the machine, meaning he'll have a small effect on barely completed machines and a large one on almost completed machines. Twisted Astro will also give the Tired III debuff if you are being chased by him, reducing your Stamina Regeneration by 75%.
Twisted Astro, like the other Main Character Twisteds, possess a sound cue in the form of a constant ambience.
Twisted Astro produces carpet sounding footsteps, which are quieter than other Main Twisteds' footsteps.
Strategies[]
If you want to outrun this Twisted, it's recommended to get Movement Speed or Stamina items like Speed Candy, Protein Bar, etc. However, his speed was buffed in the 0.4.0 Update, now being around the same speed as a Common Twisted (excluding Twisted Shrimpo). Thus, making it harder to do so.
If you're doing solo and failed a Skill Check on a machine, It's recommended to let Twisted Astro spot you so that you don't lose progress on said machine.
If you're distracting fast Twisteds (ex: Twisted Pebble), it's not recommended to distract Twisted Astro at the same time as he is capable of slowing one's Stamina Regeneration. You can try to fix this problem by either having a backup Distractor or warning your fellow teammates about Twisted Astro.
Twisted Astro's Tired debuff can be a hassle. If you manage to escape him but are still under the effects of the Tired III debuff and are out of stamina, there is a chance you might get seen again, but this time you will be out of stamina.

Trivia[]
- Twisted Astro's soft, quiet footsteps make him difficult to notice immediately, which reflects how the playable character has the highest Stealth in the game. His ability to regress machines when a Toon misses a Skill Check and apply the
Tired III debuff (Decreasing Stamina Regeneration) can also possibly be a counterpart to how the playable character can restore the Stamina of Toons around him.
- Twisted Astro is the smallest Main Character Twisted. However, his model is the tallest if including head accessories, mainly because of how tall Twisted Astro's hat is, when without the rig.
- Twisted Astro is one of the only Main Character Twisteds to not leave Ichor footprints when he walks, the other being Twisted Pebble.
- Prior to the 0.4.0 Update, in Roleplay Mode, whenever someone would chat whilst morphed as Twisted Astro, their chat bubble would appear very high up above their character, usually in the ceiling. This is because of how large Twisted Astro’s model is in actuality due to its hat.
- Being chased by Twisted Astro is currently the only way to obtain the Tired debuff.
- Twisted Astro's appearance is slightly reminiscent of Dandy's early Twisted(?) design (Seen in the development section of his gallery page). Whether or not this is intentional is unknown.
- Some sounds that Twisted Astro makes are the "responses" of Io from Dota2.
- After the 0.4.0 Update, Twisted Astro gained a speed buff which increased his speed to 19, previously being 18.
