Train Whistle is one of the 55 usable Trinkets found in Dandy's World and is one of the 40 Twisted Trinkets. It is obtained by achieving 100% Research on
Twisted Dyle.
Appearance
Train Whistle is a dull gold whistle attached to a chain. Each link on the chain is one of the seven different colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and indigo), matching
Dyle's color scheme. Ichor appears to be dripping from inside it.
Strategies
This Trinket is helpful if you have the following Twisteds on the floor that apply the Slow debuff, and you are playing as a Toon with lower mobility:
Twisted Finn, as if you complete a machine, he applies
Slow IIIupon completion of a machine.
Twisted Vee, as she applies the
Slow IIdebuff for 5 seconds upon a chase.
Twisted Rodger, as upon activation, applies Slow III and
Confused III. Do note that this Trinket does not also make you immune to Confused III.
This Trinket may not always be useful as the three Twisteds mentioned above are all different rarities (Both Twisted Finn and Twisted Rodger being Uncommon, and Twisted Vee being a Main Character). Besides, when used to distract, you will (nearly) never see a threat in Twisted Finn due to his debuff only affecting your extractors, and if you never pick up Twisted Rodger's Capsule, he will also never be a threat. Twisted Vee, on the other hand, is a lot more special.
When distracting Twisted Vee, this Trinket is not to be underestimated, making problematic Twisted combos with Vee like
Twisted Pebble/
Twisted Astro being a lot easier to distract, though Vee's average speed could still give problems if distracting faster Twisteds. If you want to, you can replace
Speedy Shoes in your distracting meta Trinket set. Note Twisted Vee is a Main Character, and she won't spawn often until higher Floors, so this Trinket probably won't give extreme value to you until then, though it is really good if you aim for a higher floor like 100. It is great to have Train Whistle if you are a backup distractor, so you can distract on higher floors where Twisted Vee's spawn rate will be high.
This Trinket may be of higher use when Twisteds that apply slow debuffs are on the Daily Twisted Board, but if you are aiming for really good runs, distracting with this will lengthen your lifespan.
Do note that Train Whistle only nullifies the Slow DEBUFF. It won't nullify other sources of slowness, such as
Brick,
Brusha's Ability when active, Ichor Leak puddles, etc.
Do note that
Ribecca is already immune to all debuffs, so using this Trinket on her is redundant.
Trivia
- It is the first, and currently the only Trinket to nullify a debuff.
- Train Whistle is the second Lethal Trinket, the first being
Dandy Plush.
