Rodger The Magnifying Glass, also known as Rodger is one of the 21 playable Toons in Dandy's World, purchasable in Dandy's Store.
Appearance[]
Rodger is a brown magnifying glass with a single eye resting in the middle of his lens. His eye is perpetually squinted from above (perhaps in exhaustion, disdain, or focus). His handle has a light purple-ish blue band that goes around it. He wears a gray, almost-black tuxedo jacket with dark blue lapels and cuffs, as well as a white undershirt, and a frilly jabot that is the same color as the band around his handle. He also seems to have no noticeable pants at the bottom.
In his full icon, he carries a brown suitcase with him.

Strategies[]
Rodger's main purpose lies in collecting Research (and to a lesser extent, Ichor). He makes a good training character as using him is most beneficial for new players: his low speed helps players learn to regulate stamina and his extra Research gain is most beneficial to those that don't have much. The rest of this section should be considered with the fact that he is more aptly-applied by the inexperienced in mind.
Rodger's main stat, which is his Extraction Speed (4 ★), is above average and will help with completing Machines faster. The downside is his low Movement Speed, which means finding and using Speed Items will help with traversing around the Floor better (although you may wish to save them for emergencies).
The use of Trinkets is recommended to help with his Movement Speed, good ones being Pink Bow, Speedy Shoes, Dog Plush, and Vanity Mirror. Using Extraction Trinkets is also recommended, which can help make his already good Extraction Speed even better. Some examples are Magnifying Glass, Blue Bandana, Machine Manual, and Vee's Remote (though Wrench is more accessible for newcomers).
Rodger's Detective Passive grants him double the Research percentages from collecting Research Capsules and encountering Twisteds.
Normally, you would gain 1% from Research Capsules and 5% from encountering Twisteds, but with his Passive Ability, it's doubled to 2% and 10%. This makes Rodger useful for collecting Research much faster on a Twisted that isn't fully Researched yet. However, this effectively renders him ability-less (similarly to Boxten). For that reason, if you have no motivation to collect Research (whether because you have all of it or don't want it), Rodger probably isn't the best Toon for the job. If you do want Research, no other Toon surpasses him! (For more information clarifying Research, see Research).

- You can look through the glass in Rodger's head to see through Blackouts clearer, as Roblox's rendering does not work very well with fog seen through transparent objects.
- With Rodger's double Research bonus, it takes 8 encounters with a Twisted to get 100% Research on them.
- Specifically, it takes 7.1 encounters, but you cannot have 0.1 of an encounter. Since dying during an encounter can prevent you from collecting the full amount, this isn't too bad.
- This assumes you get 14% research from each encounter, the maximum possible achieved by entering a chase with the Twisted and collecting their two Research Capsules. If you do not get 14% per encounter, it might take longer.
- Rodger's eye and lens will be layered on top of some effects (status boost, username, Ichor Extraction liquid, etc.)
- Rodger's Introduction Card used to say that he was a spyglass, but was later corrected to say that he is a magnifying glass.
- Rodger's name is likely either a reference to Roger Bacon, the creator of magnifying glass, or the saying "Rodger that."
- Rodger is seen as a father figure by Toodles' confirmed by Qwelver in a QNA Art Stream.
- Despite Flutter's lack of a mouth being seemingly the reason she's mute, Rodger's lack of a mouth does not prevent him from talking. Glisten and Finn, who also have glass faces, do each have a mouth, so it can be inferred that Rodger's is located somewhere else.
- Glisten's eyes are also slanted in a similar manner to Rodger's, implying that Rodger's eye is not a mouth. Since Glisten's mouth is closed-but-visible, Rodger's hypothetical mouth is likely not just hard to see.
- However, both mirrors and fishbowls commonly have mouths within the glass (reflections and fish) while magnifying glasses do not.
