Panic Mode is a feature in Dandy's World, added since June 14th, 2024.

Interaction[]

When all machines reach completion, the Elevator will be open for 30 seconds, an alarm and heartbeat sound will be heard, and a red vignette effect will be applied on all players' screens. During the last 10 seconds, a loud beeping sound will play after every second passes. When the timer ends, the door will close and any players who are still lingering outside will face instant death, regardless of their Health. If all players make it to the elevator alive, it will close, regardless of the time left. The elevator will be highlighted and on higher detail settings, an arrow will point to it to help with navigation. Additionally, the speed of all Twisteds will increase during Panic Mode by 25% (20% if the Suppression card is chosen).

Toons inside of the Elevator cannot take damage and are considered out of line of sight. However, attention spans will still apply.

Tips[]

  • The timer can be increased with either the Decency or the Etiquette cards, which will increase it by 5 seconds each (up to a maximum of 40 seconds).
  • Using Trinkets like Alarm or Vanity Mirror will help you get to the elevator faster and escape Twisteds that will be faster than you.
  • Since Panic Mode can be dangerous for slower Toons and those far away from the elevator, it is recommended to prime the Machine closest to the exit, especially in higher floors with more Twisteds. Certain Toons such as Rodger, Vee, and Shrimpo may have trouble reaching it if they're in sticky situations or low on stamina.
  • Certain Twisteds' effects will always activate during Panic Mode: Twisted Glisten will instantly enter his aggressive state; Twisted Finn's slowing effect will apply to the person who finished the last machine. It's best to ensure that your teammates are aware of its approach in advance!
  • Fast Twisteds can be a major threat, due to their speed having a larger increase than slower Twisteds. This can include Twisted Bobette, Twisted Coal during Blackouts, Twisted Pebble, and enraged Twisted Glisten.
  • Alert your teammates with “GTE” (Go/Get To Elevator) This helps avoid more injuries or even deaths in order to progress your run smoothly.
    • In addition, if you have a distractor on your team, it helps to say "EAE" (Everyone At Elevator) to let them know when they can head to the elevator without anyone in the way.
    • If there's a Twisted near the elevator, or at the elevator. Alert your team with "TNE" (Twisted(s) Near Elevator) or "TAE" (Twisteds at Elevator) to help them know they should be careful getting back.
  • Twisted Vee makes it difficult to escape with her Slow II debuff, allowing any kind of Twisteds to more easily catch up to you. It's advised to stay away from her at all costs during this mode.
  • Strategies surrounding Twisteds at Elevator during Panic Mode largely include trying to draw them either away from it or towards a far corner to give teammates room to squeeze through. Do not intentionally lure Twisteds to Elevator if not in an attempt to prevent them from blocking a path a teammate is taking. It is a good idea to take Twisted aggro if a Toon with higher stealth than you is at risk of being damaged, as this will make the Twisteds focus on your Toon instead- usually, low-stealth Toons will wait near Elevator to help relieve pressure. Only attempt these strategies if you're well-versed with the game, as you may just end up getting yourself and others hurt instead.
  • Support Toons such as Astro, Goob, and Cocoa should try to position themselves and their abilities well in order to help teammates.
    • For Toons with short-ranged buffs, this means waiting out of line of sight near the main entrance to the Elevator room.
    • For Toons with item-based abilities, this means positioning items a decent distance away from Elevator ahead of time to give teammates time to pick them up.
    • For Toons with low stealth or Goob, this means waiting right outside/inside of the Elevator for the right moment to act, or standing close to Elevator at the end of a long, straight hallway to maximize potential.
  • Whenever possible, do not lead Twisteds to the Elevator. Alternatively, if teammates mention they want Tapes or Research and seem capable, absolutely bring Twisteds to the Elevator towards the end of Panic Mode.
