Ichor Extraction Machine[]

Poppy extracting a machine
The Ichor Extraction Machines are used to progress through the floors in the game. They're spawned at specific points in the map that vary between floor-to-floor. There is a minimum of 4 per floor, but further along more machines will be spawned, scaling slower or faster depending on the number of players in your lobby.
The machines are filled by doing an E/Tap action to begin turning the valve, and are considered "completed" when the Ichor fills the whole tank and the light turns green. You can exit filling them by pressing E or the "Stop Extracting" button. You also will be booted off the machine if a Twisted spots you. Do note that you are unable to leave a machine during a Skill Check, unless kicked out by a Twisted. This can prove dangerous if you accidentally interact with a machine during a chase and a Skill Check happens at the same time, as Twisteds only make you cancel working on a machine the moment you are spotted.
If you or a teammate successfully finish extracting a machine, you will earn between 0 and 5 Ichor and up to 10 tapes depending on the percentage you contributed to its progression.

Extraction Speed[]
All the times shown below are without any trinkets, items, cards, great Skill Checks or Shelly's Inspiration ability (Times for Toons with passive abilities are included, however).
★/0.75 | These Toons are the slowest at extracting, taking 60 seconds to finish a machine. Currently the only Toons with one star Extraction Speed are Shrimpo, Pebble and Razzle & Dazzle (odd floors)
★★/0.85 | These Toons, while not as slow, take ~52.9 seconds to finish a machine. The following Toons with two star Extraction Speed are Goob, Flutter, Tisha, Sprout, Toodles and Bobette. Tisha, Bobette and Toodles are not as hindered with their low extraction speed as Tisha and Bobette provide an extra star in skill check meanwhile Toodles has an active ability that can either boost their skill check or extraction speed by 15%, although it is not guaranteed. This stat distribution makes their extraction time comparable to a 3 ★ star Extraction-speed Toon without considering Trinkets.
★★★/1.00 | This is the "default" Extraction Speed, as the majority of Toons have three stars. Machines take 45 seconds to complete with the only exception being Boxten, since his passive ability includes himself, making him always extract in 42.5 seconds if he is the last Toon standing.
★★★★/1.20 | There are currently only three Toons with four stars in Extraction Speed, being Brightney, Rodger, and Connie. As such, they extract one machine in 37.5 seconds.
★★★★★/1.50 | Toons with five stars in Extraction Speed have to at least sacrifice two stars in other stats (If they aren't a Main Character) and thus are often oriented toward extraction. Currently, Razzle & Dazzle (even floors), Glisten, Yatta, and Vee have five stars and extract a machine in 30 seconds.
Boxten's passive ability gives the following Extraction Speed for 2-8 players going upwards: 40.2, 38.1, 36.3, 34.6, 33.1, 31.7, and lastly 30.4 seconds for all Toons alive.
Skill Checks[]

A Skill Check appearing while extracting
Skill Checks are a task that occur when filling an Ichor machine. You have to press the space bar or the "Skill Check" button on screen when the red line is in the white or gold block to successfully complete it. The lower the Skill Check stat a Toon has, the smaller the block will be. Failing a Skill Check will halt the progression of the machine momentarily, and any Twisteds nearby will be alerted and run to the machine unless they are already in a chase.
The white section of the Skill Check will have a smaller, gold section within it which scales in size with the white section. Hitting this smaller section successfully will add completion to the machine proportionate to the Toon's Skill Check stat, and reduces extraction time by the Toon's Skill Check Value in seconds. Shelly and Gigi, who have the highest Skill Check stat, will add the most completion upon hitting the gold section while Cosmo and Shrimpo, who have the lowest, will add the least.
Independent of Magnifying Glass, the extraction time reduction for each "Great" Skill Check is:
★/1.0 | -1.0 second(s); adds 2.2% machine completion (Cosmo, Shrimpo)
★★/1.5 | -1.5 seconds; adds 3.3% machine completion (Astro, Coal, Connie, Flutter, Glisten, Scraps, Sprout)
★★★/2.0 | -2.0 seconds; adds 4.4% machine completion (Boxten, Brightney, Ginger, Goob, Poppy, Razzle & Dazzle, Rudie, Pebble, Teagan, Toodles, Yatta)
★★★★/2.5 | -2.5 seconds; adds 5.5% machine completion (Bobette, Finn, Looey, Tisha, Vee)
★★★★★/3.0 | -3.0 seconds; adds 6.6% machine completion (Shelly, Gigi)
After hitting a Skill Check, there will be a window of 3 seconds where no Skill Checks will occur, even with a 100% or higher Skill Check chance (100% or higher Skill Check chance is possible with 3 Skill Check candies or with just 2 if Participation Award is equipped, Enigma candies can provide a 50% increase but are not guaranteed to give this boost). However, after the grace period, a Skill Check could appear immediately.
One of Twisted Astro's abilities is activated by failed Skill Checks. If one is failed on a floor he is on and he is not already in a chase, he will beeline to the machine and will ONLY stop if noticing a player. If he makes it to the machine, he will remove half of the completion from it, forcing you to spend more time filling it back up again.
It should be noted that Skill Checks can prove dangerous as they prevent the player from voluntarily vacating the machine without alerting nearby Twisteds: If a Twisted spots you before you begin extraction and a Skill Check appears, you will not automatically detach from the machine, making it much more likely that you get hit. If you do choose to fail the check, more Twisteds might follow.
- If a dangerous Twisted (i.e long-ranged Twisteds such as Twisted Gigi/Twisted Goob/Twisted Scraps) approaches during a Skill Check, you will be unable to escape without alerting them.
- If a teammate is being chased by a Twisted and runs past you, you will not automatically detach from the machine until the Twisted switches targets. Skill Checks can prevent you from detaching ahead of time, wasting valuable seconds you could have spent escaping.
- Skill Checks can reduce your reaction time if a teammate is in danger. However, they can also be helpful! Failed Skill Checks can be used to lure Twisteds away from teammates or prioritized objectives, especially if Vee is in the floor. Do take caution as they will immediately cause alerted Twisteds to start running and potentially switch directions; this can take teammates by surprise and get them injured.

Tips[]
- An easy way to look for the location of a machine is to simply look up and find a long, gray, metal pipe with black bands that goes up to the ceiling, or look for a red glowing circle with a black line in the middle around Twisted Looey's height, as all machines have these two features, although the latter only applies to incomplete machines.
- Make sure there aren't any Twisteds nearby when you're extracting Ichor, as some machine spots can make it tricky to run away from Twisteds without losing a heart. Try to not fail Skill Checks as that will make nearby Twisteds head to the machine.
- Leave or 'prime/99' (Extracting a machine to near completion and then saving it for last) the nearest machine to the elevator to be finished last as it gives you and/or your teammates more time to get to the elevator when they are done extracting that machine. This is a highly recommended strategy so that slower Toons (i.e. Shrimpo or Rodger) don't die to the Panic Mode timer, or just any Toons in general.
- Try not to lead any Twisteds to your teammates when they are extracting a machine, because depending on their Stealth, the Twisted's attention may be diverted and chase that teammate instead.
- Extracting machines gives you Ichor, so playing as a Toon with a high Extraction Speed is generally a good way to get Ichor quickly.
- Although, Toons with high Skill Checks (Such as Shelly or Gigi) with Participation Award and/or Magnifying Glass may be more efficient, and safer if you cannot hit Skill Checks consistently.
- To inform your teammates that someone is on the last machine or will be soon, make sure to communicate. Many players use the acronym 'gte' (Sometimes said 'g2e') or 'get to elevator' to give others a heads-up. This warning is crucial for slower Toons or when Twisted Glisten is on the floor, but it's good practice to always use it.
- When Twisted Glisten is on the floor, usually there would be someone to "babysit/comfort" him if it is a run with other people, once someone is on the last machine, sometimes people use the acrynom 'gafg/GAFG, which means 'get away from glisten'. This is important to the person who is babysitting him, because once all the machines are finished, Twisted Glisten becomes hostile and his speed is very fast when running to the player to attack them. So the player who is comforting Twisted Glisten must be informed otherwise it would be hard for them to escape his LOS and he will catch up very quickly.
Machine Number Scaling Per Floor[]
Throughout floors, the number of machines will always begin at 4. Depending on the number of players in the elevator as the room gets generated, the number of machines will increase the higher the floor. Machine number can decrease if players leave. For example, 4 players generate floor 6, so it would have 5 machines, then 3 die. Floor 7 will now have 4 machines despite having a higher number on the last floor.

Appearance[]
Each machine is generally composed of a slightly grey glass cylinder, a black tube that connects the machine to the ceiling, an extraction valve and a red light that turns green upon completion.
Trivia[]
- The maximum number of machines that can spawn on a floor is 20.
- Since Ichor is pumped down into the machines' tanks from above, it can be inferred that the goal is to move Ichor lower into the building.
- There are currently 10 Toons that have different extracting animations compared to other Toons who use both of their arms to extract.
- Cosmo only uses his left arm to extract.
- Razzle extracts normally meanwhile Dazzle looks in another direction.
- Coal, Flutter and Pebble use their legs to fill the machine as they lack hands and arms. Coal and Pebble extract by turning the wheel with their front legs, while Flutter kicks the wheel.
- Astro uses his magic to extract due to his arms being hidden in his blanket.
- Goob uses his claws one at a time during his extraction animation.
- Rodger kneels down while he's extracting.
- Toodles rolls the wheel and jumps slightly in excitement while extracting.
- Shrimpo bangs his head against the machine repeatedly.
- Pressing the 'Stop Extracting' button right before a Skill Check appears will pause your extraction for a few seconds as if you failed the Skill Check, but will not alert nearby Twisteds.
- The Skill Check chance of 267% is the maximum with Participation Award, Lucky Coin giving the Skill Check boost, 3 Jawbreakers in your inventory and a 4th on the ground next to a machine, though the odds one Jawbreaker on the floor next to a machine let alone all four of them giving the Skill Check buff is extremely unlikely and useless with the 3 second grace period between Skill Checks.
- The sound cue Skill Checks make is an edited version of the Discord notification sound, which is pitched down, slowed slightly and reverbed.
- The machines were originally called 'Generators' in early release due to the game's inspiration from Dead by Daylight. Though, this was later changed.
- The only two Twisteds to directly affect Machines are Twisted Astro and Twisted Connie.
- The dripping particle used for extracting on a machine is a blacked out version of a texture from Flavor Frenzy, being Roquefort's critical damage icon. The dripping particle when extracting on a machine.
- In the 0.7.1 update of the game, the Toon Scraps received a revamped active ability, most notably the power to latch onto machines. Additionally, a new playable Toon named Yatta was released. Yatta's unique passive ability allows her to generate 2 random candies as a reward for completing a machine.
