Items are interactable objects in Dandy's World. They are stored in the inventory slots of the player and will disappear after being used. Items can help the player and their teammates by affecting certain stats for a short amount of time, causing an effect, or refreshing stats like health and Stamina. Items can be found on floors, and in Dandy's shop in the elevator where they can be purchased with Tapes.

Higher floors often yield a higher chance to spawn rarer and more valuable items that help you with the journey. Be sure to use these items strategically, as they can be the difference between life and death.

Items can be split into 6 categories:
Category Extracting Escaping Distracting Healing Currency Event
Description Items that help you extract machines, like Instructions. Items that would help you escape chases with Twisteds, like Speed Candy. Items that help you get Twisteds attention, like Air Horn. Items that restore lost Health, like Bandage. Items that are used as a currency, like Tapes. Items that are only available in floors for a limited time for certain Events, like the Ornaments.

Tips and Tricks

Common Items

Yatta item drops from this rarity include: Chocolate, Gumballs, Stealth Candy, Stamina Candy

  • These items are best used every chance you get. For example, use gumballs when you start a machine or get into a chase. If you find a better item, use the one you have and pick up the better item. Stealth candies are a common item, but can be helpful for chases when there are more players, so try to keep atleast one or two in your inventory is you want. If you see another stealth candy, use the one in your inventory before picking this one up or leave it for someone else.
  • If a distractor runs near you and you can't leave the area quickly, (Especially a distractor with 3+ Stealth like Flutter, Sprout, Pebble and Tisha) use a Stealth Candy to avoid the Twisteds seeing you.
  • Never use stealth items while playing as Shrimpo as they can decrease his stealth even more.

Uncommon Items

Yatta item drops from this rarity include: Extraction Candy, Speed Candy, Skill Check Candy

  • The best time to use these items are when the right requirements are used. It does not need to be urgent to use them, just use it when possible. For example, save instructions for when you start your first machine on a floor or protein bar when you have low stamina. It is also best to replace these items with better ones if found.
  • Instructions are very good for priming machines or doing dangerous machines, so try saving this item for when it is best. If you are doing a Dandy run and have no way of getting this item, rely on extraction speed candies instead.

Rare Items

Yatta item drops from this rarity only have one item, that being: Jawbreaker

  • These items are best used only when necessary. Hold on to these items until you find something worth replacing or you are in a situation when action is required. For example, use Airhorns when a teammate is at risk of losing a heart, and use Jawbreakers when evading twisteds or doing machines in dangerous places.
  • Air Horns should be given to distractors, such as Pebble, Flutter, Goob, Tisha, Razzle & Dazzle, Looey, Coal, Sprout, and Yatta.
  • Typically, the best time to use bandaids are when you are at 2 hearts, as you cannot use them at 3 hearts and using at 1 heart is the job of the medkit. Plus, you are better safe than sorry.
  • Jawbreakers are the only item in this category that can be used in all circumstances, so treat it as if it is a valve or eject button. If you don’t get the buff you need, find a backup plan or use another item.

Very Rare Items

Yatta item drops from this rarity only have one item, that being: Box o' Chocolates

  • These items are best to use only when immediate action is required, or if you are in a very vulnerable state. For example, use Bottle of Pops when you run out of stamina during a chase, and use Box of Chocolates when a twisted outruns you and you are at risk of death.
  • Don't waste items such as Bottle o' Pop, Eject Button, Smoke Bomb, and Box o' Chocolates. Only use them when in sticky situations, like getting cornered by Twisteds or during Panic Mode.
  • Avoid using Medkits when you are at 2 hearts, as that is the job of the bandaid. Only use them if you are at 1 heart, and use them at the very first chance you get, so you can be safe and free up inventory space.

Ultra Rare Items

Yatta does not drop any items from this rarity when her passive ability is activated.

  • These items must be saved for only when immediate action is required or a healing item is available. For example, use Valves when there are machines in extremely dangerous places or situations, or smoke bombs when you are unable to evade a twisted without dying.
  • Smoke Bombs should be given to Toons with lower Stealth, such as Brightney, Vee, Glisten. They can also be given to slower Toons like Shrimpo. Connie may also be able to use it, but her ability already has the same effect.
  • Valves are best used when there is a machine in a place that leaves you open or trapped, and there are great hazards on the floor, like a main twisted or a blackout. Avoid using the valve in places where you can quickly escape twisteds and when there is no threat. Vee's Remote is a better choice for completing machine near distracting spots or near the broken elevator, so save this item for dire circumstances.

Other Items / Generalized Effects

  • Prioritize allowing Cosmo and Ginger take Bandages and Health Kits as they exchange their own hearts at the cost of healing other Toons, unless someone urgently needs it and they don't mind.
  • Let Sprout take Tapes, because it takes 100 tapes to produce one heal (with an extra 50 tapes required per extra Sprout in the lobby.)
  • Gigi and Teagan are not considered healers because they can only heal themselves (Gigi can use her ability to get heals and Teagan uses 100 tapes to heal herself).
  • For any of the Main Character Toons, they should take Bandages due to them having only 2 Hearts, and for any other toon, they should take Health Kits (unless someone really needs it).
  • Stamina and speed items should be given to slow Toons or Toons with low Stamina such as Shelly, Connie, Gigi, Shrimpo, Finn, Rodger, Vee, and Yatta. so they can get out of risky situations such as being chased by a Twisted.
  • Jumper Cables and Valves have the most value when on a hard or scary floor, such as a floor that has spawned multiple Main Character Twisteds, a Blackout floor with a Main Character Twisted, or a Floor on a Blackout with a large amount of Twisteds.
    • Since Box o' Chocolates has 5 uses, if you're getting chased by a very fast Twisted, or you're low on Stamina and getting chased by a Twisted, instead of using it all 5 times, you should use it only once, and if you're a slow Toon, use it at least twice.
  • If there are distractors on your team like Goob or Pebble, and there are not any healers, it is recommended to give heals to them as they are the ones being chased by Twisteds the most.
  • Yatta’s passive drops items after doing machines or upon taking a hit. When doing a machine as her, consider what items you have and if you should replace them with the new items you will drop. If the machine is near other teammates, be considerate and share the items you drop. There is a bug where the items can drop onto the top of a machine, so don’t rely on your ability to get items too much.

Trivia

  • The game does not feature a "give" mechanic. Items cannot be transferred after being picked up. Players must call teammates to items and let them pick it up instead. Qwel has said she considered adding a gifting mechanic, which may be referring to these items.
  • Although some items are Dandy Shop exclusive, Gigi can grant herself any of these items when using her ability.
  • Fishing Rod can't grant you any items that are Dandy's Shop Exclusive.
  • Activating the Wrench Trinket with 2 Jumper Cables can serve as a replacement for the Valve, although it comes with a 2-second delay.
    • Alternatively, you can use 3 Jumper Cables.
  • Using Thinking Cap and Lucky Coin (If the Skill Check buff is active) as Shelly or Gigi and using 3 Jawbreakers will create the largest Skill Check window (assuming that all 3 Jawbreaker grant the Skill Check buff).
  • Items that give a percentage buff are calculated with a compounding formula, this goes the same with Trinkets. It is calculated by (100% + Percentage%).
    • As Pebble with the Dog Plush Trinket, after eating a Speed Candy, you would get 37.5% on walk speed instead of 35%. This is calculated by (100% + 10%(Dog Plush)) * (100% + 25%(Speed Candy)), which equals to 37.5%.
  • As Finn, With Alarm and Vanity Mirror, have everyone prime and complete 20 machines around the same time and use 3 Eject Buttons to achieve the most consistent fastest speed in the game at a run speed of 2,683.5.
    • If you have 3 Eject Buttons in your inventory, but one or more are on the floor, you could end up going even faster.
    • You could also switch out Alarm for Bone, but there may not be any items in your path before the speed wears off.
  • The Valve does not fully complete a Machine once used, instead filling it up to about 99%.
  • The Bandage is the only item that changes its appearance when picked or bought. Its model appears as a blue box labeled "Dand-AID," while its icon in the inventory is a single rainbow bandaid.
  • Prior to v0.2.0, Health Kits used to cost 150 Tapes.
  • Qwel said that the number of items that can spawn on a Floor is based on how many players there are. The formula is unknown though.
  • Stealth items are dangerous for Shrimpo, as it can decrease his stealth additionally.
    • They are also useless for Brightney, as she has 0 stealth and multiplying the number 0 leaves it at 0, therefore giving her no boost.
  • The Smoke Bomb functions the same as Connie's ability. It can't be used to evade Lethal Twisteds, just like her ability.
  • The Ornament is the first item to only spawn on floors during Christmas Events.
  • The Bandage is the only item to have known concept art being found in its texture sheet.
  • Every Dandy's Shop-Exclusive Item is extraction-based.
  • Tapes don't have their own texture sheet. Instead, they use Twisted Dandy's texture sheet.
  • As of Version 0.7.1 Enigma Candies have been Replaced with Jawbreakers. This makes it the first consumable item from the game to be removed.
