Goob the Fluffy Craft, also known as Goob, is one of the 32 playable Toons in Dandy's World, added on June 14th, 2024. He is available to be bought in Dandy's Store.

Appearance

Goob is a beige-colored craft with a rounded, square-shaped head featuring tufts of fluff on the forehead and cheeks. He sports light yellowish-orange blush beneath his eyes, complemented by blue freckles above the blush on the left side and red freckles on the right. His torso is also light yellowish orange, adorned with tufts of fluff around the neck.

Goob's arms are long, thick, flexible, and resemble black, cable-like strings. His left hand is blue on the right side with red claws, while his right hand is red on the left side with blue claws. Both hands are large and rounded. Additionally, his knees and ankles are marked with light yellowish-orange stripes. He is commonly depicted as cross-eyed.

Personality

Goob is a kind and sociable Toon known for his energetic and innocent personality. His interactions with Rodger highlight his genuine belief that hugs are simply what others need, rather than using them strategically. Goob is also easily excitable, further adding to his cheerful and approachable nature. As shown in his dialogue, he looks up to his older sister, Scraps.

Strategies

Goob has excellent mobility and is one of the fastest Toons in the game (with a 4 Movement Speed), with him being able to outrun and outwalk most of the Common, Rare, and even some Main Character Twisteds with the use of speed-enhancing Trinkets, excluding Twisted Pebble. Goob also has 2 Star Stealth, which is the same as some Toons such as Teagan, Vee, and Glisten. This makes Goob a great pick for distracting Twisteds and keeping them away from other teammates working on Machines due to his fast Mobility and low Stealth.

Goob's main bonus is his Ability titled Hug!. This Ability allows him to bring another Toon towards himself as long as they are in his line of sight. This has a lot of uses, from saving lives to helping other Toons get around:

• Pulling a Toon away from a Twisted
• Pulling a Toon into the Elevator during Panic Mode (including afk ones, a unique ability)
• Pulling a low Movement Speed Toon to help them travel faster
• Pulling a high Extraction Speed Toon over to a Machine

Hug! is a generally useful tool for helping out teammates. Goob can take advantage of his high Mobility to get into good places to use his Ability, and with its broad usage, he can make use of it often enough to be worth it. In situations where a Twisted is between you and your hug target, you can use your Ability to pull them directly through the Twisted to safety, as Goob's target is invincible during the pull. Goob used to be able to pull people out of the Elevator but is now unable to. It can be difficult to aim properly, and cancels if line of sight is blocked.

As for Items, Goob doesn't need many Speed Items due to his already great mobility, but it could be useful to take Stamina-Restoring Items, such as Bottle O' Pop, Pop, or Protein Bar. Health Items are also great for Goob, as being a Distractor means he is at frequent risk of getting hit. Stamina should be preserved for Panic Mode whenever possible.

Despite Goob's main usage as a distractor, his average Skill Check can make him a possible Extractor if he needs to be, such as if a different player requests to be in the role of distraction or if you're not proficient with it.

Because of Goob's low Stealth and fast Movement Speed, it's recommended to use Trinkets that are able to boost your Movement Speed in order to help more with Distracting, the best Trinket sets for Goob include:

Mobility

• Dog Plush/Options
  • This Trinket unlocks the role of distractor to the holder (19.3 walk speed). Here are some options to pair Dog Plush with.
    • Speedy Shoes, to out-walk fast twisteds and supplement your ability to loop Twisted Pebble (20.2 walk speed);
    • Clown Horn or Ribbon Spool, to outrun during Panic Mode all twisteds but Pebble when active (21.2 walk/30.3 run speed), though these are preferable only when duo distracting;
    • Vee's Remote or Magnifying Glass, to help with floor progression;
    • Ghost Snakes In A Can, to reduce Hug's cooldown (20s); etc.

  • This set speeds up machine completion by maximizing Skill Check extraction. Paired with Goob's already good mobility, he becomes a pretty decent extractor.

Trivia

• Goob used to be one of four characters which were one of Qwel's OCs before being added to Dandy's World, the other three being Dandy (Personal), Glisten (Don't Hug Me I'm Scared) and Connie (Epic Mickey).
• Goob has only one UGC Item, that being Goob's Head.
• Goob is Scraps' younger brother.
• Goob's name may be derived from the word goober, meaning a foolish person. His carefree personality, cross-eyed expression, and slightly clumsy walk are some attributes that can earn him this name.
• Goob used to be able to intentionally pull Toons from the Elevator into dangerous situations with his Ability, causing them to either take damage or die. If a Goob did this intentionally, they would likely receive a ban due to the rule of No Foul Play/Griefing that BlushCrunch (the developers) have.
  • Doing this on accident would not have resulted in a ban.
  • This is no longer possible in Update 0.3 and beyond.
• Goob has sharp teeth, according to his Interaction with Shelly.
  • You can actually see this when he is damaged, and in the mouth of his Twisted Counterpart.
  • This makes Goob one of the only Toons with sharp teeth, the others being Yatta and Shelly as seen in Shelly's Dino-Snore skin and the 2024 Halloween Art.
• Goob's arms do not highlight when hovered over with an Ability.
  • This is likely because of how Goob's hands are technically not a part of his model.
  • This also happens for Scraps and her Twisted Counterpart.
• According to his Dialogue with Rodger, Goob's hugs aren't an intentional strategy. Rather, it's just him thinking the other Toons need a hug.
• Goob is the fourth tallest Toon, with the third being Razzle & Dazzle, the second being Sprout, and the first being Flyte.
• Before Dandy's World was in production, Goob had a different design.
  • His name was originally E.G.G, meaning "Especially Good Guy".
  • His feet looked similar to roller skates.
  • He had some sort of tank on his back.
    • This tank looks to be filled with ichor.
  • He also had a human design as well.
• Goob's 'fingers' are actually claws. This is confirmed in one of his Dialogues after he finishes extractions.
• In Roleplay Mode, it is seen that Goob shares the same room with Scraps.
• Goob is one of the 9 Toons that uses a unique extracting animation; in this case, he uses his claws one at a time to extract. The other Toons are Astro, Cosmo, Flutter, Pebble, Rodger, Shrimpo, and Toodles, and Yatta.
• Goob and Scraps are designations R-004 and R-005. The R most likely stands for Rare.
• Originally, Goob's Twisted Form was going to have larger hands. However, they ended up being scaled down to their current size for unknown reasons.
• When using his Ability, Goob can say "Come here!" or "Get over here! Hehe!". This is a reference to Mortal Kombat's character Scorpion; more specifically, the quotes Scorpion says when he uses his grapple pull attack.
• He's one of the few toons whose ability ends with an exclamation mark. Some other Toons who also have an exclamation mark in their ability's name include Gigi, Tisha, and Pebble.
• Unlike his sister, Goob is not based on any animal. However, due to the shape of bits of fluff on the sides of his head, some fans may interpret him having a dog-like design as opposed to Scraps having a feline one. Though, he does have some animal traits, such as being fluffy, shedding (mentioned in his interaction with Tisha), having sharp teeth and claws.
• Poppy and Goob seem to be good friends, as they engage in a friendly shouting match in their interaction.
• Goob may have wobbly hands as implied with his interaction with Teagan in which he mentions that he dropped the teacup last time. This is further implied by his animation whenever he extracts a machine as he has to lift his hands constantly.
• Goob and Yatta are implied to be friends, or at least very familiar with each other, since they call out each other's names in both their interactions.
• Goob is one of three Toons that has a fan-made skin, his being the Special Spaghetti skin. The other two are Looey's Dapperly Festive skin and Rodger's Ebony Detective skin.
