Glisten The Mirror, also known as Glisten is one of the 21 playable Toons in Dandy's World, added on August 14th, 2024, alongside Sprout, Cosmo, and Finn. He is available to be bought in Dandy's Store.

Appearance

Glisten is a circular mirror with a golden border and body. His border swirls at the top of his head, giving the appearance of hair and has pink blush underneath his eyes. He has a pink bow behind him that is tied around his chest. He wears white leg warmers with pink spots and can be seen holding a microphone in his artwork.

Strategies

Glisten has the same Extraction Speed stat as Vee, making him one of the best Extractors. While Glisten's Skill Check may make Vee the better Extractor, Glisten's higher Movement Speed and easy getaway Abilities make him arguably a better Toon. He is similar to Vee in terms of stats, being slightly faster than Vee. However, his lackluster Skill Check and Stealth can become an issue.

You can use his Active Ability GlistenabilityReflection to easily get away from the Twisteds that are chasing you. Line of sight isn't required to use this Ability, so it makes it even easier. However, watching your Active Ability's cooldown is necessary, as using it at the wrong time can make you unable to escape in tricky situations. If you're on the Library floor and you were to do the last machine in a room adjacent to the elevator, you can teleport through the walls and save a lot of stamina.

It's best to have Distractors like Goob to make sure that Twisteds don't bother Glisten while he's Extracting and also because they have the same Stealth stat. However, other Distractors can work, as long as you are out of the way. Watching Glisten's Stealth stat and distance to the Twisteds is necessary because of this.

Some trinket sets may include:

  • Speedy Shoes + Magnifying Glass
    • This one requires a higher skill floor, and depends on whether or not you can get the high-risk high-reward of hitting the Skill Check. The Speedy Shoes are for added Movement Speed.

  • Glisten was originally a Don't Hug Me I'm Scared OC that Qwelver made.
  • Glisten is the second Non-Main Character Toon to have 5 stars on a stat, the first being Scraps and the third being Gigi.
    • Him and Scraps also have a really similar Ability, the only difference is that Scraps needs line of sight to use hers.
  • His name, Glisten, means "to reflect a sparkling light or a faint intermittent glow", reflecting his status as a mirror.
  • Glisten would listen to "awesome music".
  • Glisten's designation is R-002 with the R standing most likely for Rare.
  • Glisten receives the Confused III Debuff upon using his Active Ability.
    • According to a note from the Roleplaying Mode, Glisten gets the Confused III Debuff from using his Active Ability because it 'makes him dizzy'.
      • Glisten's dialogue with Rodger also references this.
  • Glisten's bedroom seem to share a floor with Boxten, Brightney, Goob, Poppy, Razzle & Dazzle, Scraps and Shrimpo in the Roleplaying Mode.
  • Glisten helps Toodles apply makeup.
  • Glisten could possibly have a sweet tooth, due to all the sweets he has in his room within the Roleplaying Mode.
  • There are loads of implications that Glisten is insecure about himself and keeps a prideful facade in order to mask it, all of which tie to Glisten's fear of being all alone without anyone to help him or be by his side:
    • Several of Glisten's interactions with certain Toons reveal more than him simply wanting to be noticed, namely with Tisha, Toodles (if Glisten starts the conversation), and Rodger (if Rodger starts the conversation) in which he acts defensive or even hints the insecure side of himself.
    • While descending to the next floor on the elevator there's a chance for Glisten to say, "Hahahaaa! ...I'm fine." Glisten's laughing could possibly be the type where he tries to calm himself down from sorrow and/or fear, which soon leads to him trying to reassure himself despite the given situation.
    • There's at least two letters that can be found in Glisten's Room in the Roleplaying Mode that also imply his insecure nature, both of which involve him overworking himself in some way.
      • One of them has Glisten refusing to share anything about him that's imperfect in order to show he can handle everything, believing that he needs to be perfect for everyone to like him. The “SOMEONE” from the letter could possibly be Rodger, most likely out of concern, which also relates to their interaction together if Rodger's the one to start the conversation. This could also be Dazzle, as his toon room shares the same floor as Glisten's, and he has similar dialogue with Tisha.
      • Another letter mentions how Glisten felt appreciative after he helped Rodger carry a large pile of files. While he passes it off as his typical prideful self that he shows to the other Toons, there's a sentence that's scribbled out. Most of the scribbled text is mostly unreadable but still says "I just wish everyone could see that.", possibly implying Glisten believes his efforts are still not good enough for the other Toons.
    • As Twisted Glisten, he's the most insecure in this state and even desperate for someone to be with him. Having the fear of loneliness, afraid to be completely alone after all his efforts to not let that happen to himself. Majority of his dialogue usually consists of a desperate cry for help or the sorrowful scream of being left all alone once more.
  • Glisten is the only non-main toon with an alternative idle animation.
  • Glisten is friends with Razzle & Dazzle, as shown in their dialogue.
    • This is further explained by one of his letters, stating that 'I guess Razzle & Dazzle are fine.'
