Glisten the Mirror, also known as Glisten, is one of the 32 playable Toons in Dandy's World, added on August 14th, 2024, alongside Sprout, Cosmo, and Finn. He is available to be bought in Dandy's Store.

Appearance

Glisten is a circular mirror with a smirk on his face and a light golden border and body. His border swirls at the top of his head, giving the appearance of hair and he has pink blush underneath his eyes. He has a large pink bow behind him that is tied around his chest and wears white leg warmers with pink glitter spots. He can also be seen holding a microphone in his artwork. When hit by a Twisted, his expression changes to one of exasperation or discomfort - he squints his eyes, furrows his eyebrows, and his teeth become exposed.

Personality

Outwardly, Glisten is a charismatic, prideful and outgoing Toon. He enjoys being the center of attention and being included by the other Toons, and is obsessed with appearing perfect in both his appearance and capabilities.

However, underneath his flamboyant persona, Glisten is rather insecure, as implied in many of his interactions, notably with Sprout, Toodles, Rodger and Astro, becoming defensive when they point out his shortcomings. He often overworks himself in maintaining his flawless facade, which is best showcased in 2 of the notes lying on the floor of his room in Roleplay Mode.

Strategies

Glisten has the same Extraction Speed stat as Vee, Razzle & Dazzle (on even floors), and Yatta, making him one of the best Extractors. While Glisten's small Skill Check may make Vee superior strictly in terms of Extracting, Glisten's higher Movement Speed and easy getaway Ability make him arguably a better Toon (Also counting the information on how Vee is a Main Character, making her obviously have a few better stats). He is similar to Vee in terms of Stats, being faster than her. However, both his lackluster Skill Check and shared low Stealth can become issues.

You can use his Active Ability Reflection to easily get away from Twisteds that are chasing you, out of dead ends, or to cover ground quickly. Line of sight isn't required to use this Ability, so it makes it even easier. However, watching your Active Ability's cooldown is necessary, as using it at the wrong time can make you unable to escape tricky situations later. For example, if you're on the Library Floor and you were to do the last Machine in a room adjacent to the Elevator, you can teleport through the walls and save a lot of Stamina. However, there is a risk that the target toon that you teleport to has a Twisted chasing them or near them, which could attract the Twisted's attention to you, due to Glisten’s low stealth.

Conversely, you may also use this ability to attract Twisteds' attention. Your low Stealth and average Speed/Stamina make it possible to use Reflection to save teammates, though caution must be taken. Using Glisten's ability can be disorienting, so really try to think through any complicated maneuvers you try to pull off.

Some ideas for usage:

• Bypassing long walls/staircases.
• Accessing items or machines more quickly.
• Making it to the Elevator faster during Panic Mode.
• Avoiding stealing aggro from Distractors or easily passing Twisteds off to them.
• Saving higher-stealth/lower-speed teammates.
• Escaping Twisted Razzle & Dazzle/Twisted Rodger if a teammate activates them.
• Getting out of dead ends.
• Baiting Twisted Vee/snipers to give Distractors a head-start.
• Luring Twisteds away from the Elevator during Panic Mode and teleporting back in order to give teammates better chances of making it.
• Spending more time collecting items or objectives (by using your ability as a failsafe on large maps).

Take note that Glisten's ability can be difficult to aim and may put you directly into danger if used on the wrong person- try to get used to using it on the correct teammate before using it in high-pressure situations. In addition, Twisteds do not immediately forget your position after you teleport; their normal attention span still applies and they will continue to head towards you if they do not spot a different teammate.

It's best to have Distractors like Goob and Looey to make sure that Twisteds don't bother Glisten while he's Extracting and also because they have the same Stealth stat as him. However, other Distractors can work, as long as you are out of the way. Watching Glisten's Stealth stat and distance to the Twisteds is necessary because of this.

Mobility

• Pink Bow/Options
  • This trinket enables Glisten to outrun all Twisteds before Panic Mode as well as luring them away from teammates (26.9 run speed). Here are some options to pair Pink Bow with: Speedy Shoes, to further improve run speed (28.2 run speed); Vanity Mirror, to outrun every twisted during Panic Mode (35 run speed); Magnifying Glass or Vee's Remote, to help with floor progression; etc.
• Clown Horn/Ribbon Spool
  • This combo is good for those looking to help teammates, especially those capable of sprint-tapping Twisteds. Run speed is prioritized over maxed-out walk speed in order to get into teleportation range more easily.

Extraction

• Magnifying Glass/ Participation Award
  • This set speeds up machine completion by maximizing Skill Check extraction. However, it leaves you with a near-1 star Window Size.

Others

• Diary/Any
  • When a kiter like Goob or Looey is in the round, the Diary Trinket is useful as to not be a hindrance to them. However, since using Diary on this Toon does not make their Stealth stat higher than Toons such as Pebble, it is not recommended to be used outside of the previously mentioned condition.

• Glisten was originally a Don't Hug Me I'm Scared OC that Qwelver made.
• Glisten is the second non-Main Character Toon to have 5 on a stat, the first being Scraps , the third being Gigi, the fourth being Connie, and the fifth being Yatta.
• Glisten, Connie, Flyte, and Astro have the same amount of Skill Check (2) and so having a comparison when extracting due to their combined Extraction Speed. (Astro extracts at 1.00, Flyte and Connie at 1.20, and Glisten on 1.50, while still having the same skill check.)
• Glisten owns a wired microphone. He is shown holding it in his info card artwork and mentions it breaking to Vee in one of their dialogues.
• Glisten and Scraps have a similar ability, the differences being that Scraps' ability needs direct line of sight to use, while Glisten's does not, and Glisten's ability has a 4 times longer cooldown period. However, Glisten cannot use his ability on machines unlike Scraps.
• His name, Glisten, means "to reflect a sparkling light or a faint intermittent glow", reflecting his status as a mirror.
• Glisten would listen to "awesome music".
• Glisten is designation R-002 with the R standing most likely for Rare.
• Glisten receives the Confused III Debuff upon using his Active Ability.
  • According to a note from the Roleplaying Mode, Glisten gets the Confused III Debuff from using his Active Ability because it 'makes him dizzy'.
    • Glisten's dialogue with Rodger also references this.
• Glisten's bedroom shares a floor with Boxten, Brightney, Goob, Poppy, Razzle & Dazzle, Scraps, and Shrimpo in Roleplay Mode.
• Glisten helps Toodles apply makeup.
• Glisten could possibly have a sweet tooth, due to all the sweets he has in his room within the Roleplay Mode.
• Glisten’s insecurity about himself and obsession with appearing perfect to the others may tie in to his Twisted counterpart's autophobia (fear of being abandoned and/or all alone):
  • Notes that can be found in Glisten's Room in the Roleplaying Mode hints at this, both of which involve him overworking himself in some way.
    • In one of the notes, Glisten mentions that he repeatedly practices his mirror trick to the point of becoming dizzy. He admits that he hides that fact from the others, as he doesn’t want them to think he can’t "handle everything."
    • Another letter has scribbled text that says "I just wish everyone could see that (I’m there at the best times)", implying that Glisten believes his efforts are still not good enough for the other Toons.
  • As Twisted Glisten, he's the most insecure in this state and desperate for company. The majority of his dialogues usually consists of a plea for companionship or anguish of being left all alone once his loneliness meter maxes out.
  • In his conversation with Toodles, he is shown getting defensive when Toodles mentions him crying and complaining to Rodger, this could indicate Glisten has told him of his insecurities, or at least some parts of it.
• Glisten is implied to be friends with Razzle & Dazzle, as shown in their Dialogue.
  • This is further explained by one of his letters, stating 'I guess Razzle & Dazzle are fine.'
• Glisten is the currently the most expensive non-Main Character Toon, costing 2500 Ichor from Dandy's Store.
• Glisten seems to dislike Finn and his jokes, based on their interaction and one of Glisten's notes in his room saying "I'm just happy it isn't Finn!"
• There is a glitch that if two or more Glistens teleport to each other all the Confused III effects can be given to one of the Glistens stacking the effect causing a major amount of Debuffs.
• In a Discord Poll, it was decided that Glisten has a better side Profile than Rodger.
• Glisten shares many similarities with Vee - Both have a bow, (Vee on her neck and Glisten on his waist) similar facial expressions, both cross their arms in their idle poses, same Extraction Speed, Stealth and Stamina ( 5, 2 Star and 3 Star respectively), and both owning a microphone (Glisten's mic is seen in his infocard and mentioned in his dialogue with Vee). As Vee hosts a game show and is a Main Character, it’s possible that Glisten is copying her due to her popular status.
  • They could also potentially be friends as they are both seen together in an animation, and Vee appears to be willing to do favours for Glisten.
• Glisten harbors a dislike for clowns and likely Looey's Circus Troupe by extension, based off his dialogue with Yatta and Looey.
• Glisten often uses laughter as a means of covering up his stress and insecurity as seen in many of his dialogues, specifically with Astro, Brightney, Cosmo, Rudie, Tisha and Toodles and in one of his solo dialogues in the elevator.
  • His more narcissistic comments often also appear in similar scenarios, especially when Toons are checking in on him (ex. Rodger and Sprout) when he gets something wrong such as in his dialogue with Cosmo or when toons are teasing/insulting him such as Scraps and Vee.
