Dandy's World Wiki

Floors are locations where the survival aspect of Dandy's World occurs. Floors come in a sequence, where the game generates a new floor after the current one is completed. There is a set of premade floor types and variants the game can choose from, but their contents can vary heavily.

Mechanics

Upon generating a new floor, the game will select a floor type as well as a random variant from that floor type. There are 9 different floor types, each having between 1 and 7 variants. Every floor variant has two Elevators, one of which is the functional elevator, and the other being taped off by yellow tape that reads 'DO NOT OPEN'. All floors have Items, 4 or more Machines, and 2 or more Twisteds (with a maximum of 6) on them. Their distribution is randomized in each own way, but there are algorithms that further determine this.

The amount of Ichor you can earn per Floor is limited, being dependent on how many capsules you pick up and how many machines you do.

The amount of Twisteds and Machines on a floor is also limited, the further you get, the more Twisteds and machines there are. The maximum amount of Twisteds that could spawn used to be 8 but got replaced with 6, and the maximum amount of Machines to be completed on a single floor is 20, unless you are on the Dyle's Floor, which spawns with 25.

The bigger your team is, the faster Machine and Twisted count progresses throughout Floors, where the smaller your team is, the slower Machine and Twisted count will progress.

There are several different floor types, most with multiple variants, each variant having two possible starting points. There are a total of 26 different floors split up into 9 different floor types. In this count, there is also 1 Christmas Holiday Floor, 1 Easter Holiday Floor and 1 Halloween Holiday Floor, which are all currently unavailable. There are also Challenge Floors, which harbors special challenges and once a Challenge Floor is beaten a reward is given out to help in future Floors.

When it comes to the design of the Floors' layout, it can affect the game style, having their own challenges or perks relating to survivability.

To learn more about these challenges, go to the Floors’ respective links. They have more info on the Floors/Floor types individually.

Floor Events

Floor Event are events that can affect the current Floor and increases the chance to spawn the more Floors players descend. These Events can alter players stats or their vision. There are only 3 Floor Events in game so far, with 1 of them being exclusive to the Christmas Event.

Blackouts

For the main article, see Blackouts.

Boxten blackout

A Floor Event called 'Blackout' can occur every so often. Blackouts make the entire floor dark, with only a small circle of light making the surroundings of your Toon visible. However, the light's radius during Blackouts increases in size if you are playing as a light-emitting Toon, such as Brightney Render Brightney, Vee Render Vee, Astro Render Astro, Connie Render Connie, Soulvester Render Soulvester , Rudie Render Rudie and Eclipse Render Eclipse. The light radius can also be increased when using the Spare Bulb Spare Bulb Trinket, or if Sparkplug Icon Sparkplug is chosen.

The chances of Blackouts happening increases the more Floors players descend. The chance goes from 0 to 5% (4% if the Electrician card is picked) starting from floor 3. The chance increases by 2% (1.5% with Electrician card) each floor, until a maximum of 30% is reached, which can be reduced to 25% with the use of the Electrician card.

Twisted Brightney Render Twisted Brightney rerolls the chance of a Blackout occurring on the Floor she resides in. If she does cause a Blackout, the Floor will first appear normal, then a flickering and outage sound will play, and then the light sources will shut off. She is made more visible due to her red glow, though.

Ichor Leaks

Main Article: Ichor Leaks

Ichor Leak Puddle

A Floor Event called 'Ichor Leaks' can occur every so often. Ichor Leaks spawns ichor puddles on the floor which will give Orange IllnessIllness III (-50% Skill Check size) if stepped on and -50% Movement Speed when on a puddle (The chance goes from 0 to 5%. The chance then increases by 2%). Blot Render Blot, Connie Render Connie, Flutter Render Flutter, Ribecca Render Ribecca, and Soulvester Render Soulvester are immune to the debuff from the Ichor Leaks. This is because Connie and Flutter can float, Blot is made of ink, Ribecca's Passive Ability disallows it, and Soulvester is wearing armor, which protects him from the effect.

The chance of an Ichor Leak happening can be "reduced" by voting for Piping Tape Icon Piping Tape. Choosing this card will lower the maximum Ichor Leak chance by 5%, making the chance of the event occurring cap at 25% rather than 30%, which is the maximum without the card. The card will also make it so the chance of the event occurring goes up by 1.5% each floor rather than 2%, functioning like the Electrician card.

Iced Over

Icy Floor

Main Article: Iced Over

A Floor Event called 'Iced Over' can occur every so often. Iced Over makes the floors of maps slippery, making turning and moving around harder on a Floor for Toons only; Twisteds aren't affected.

The chance of Iced Over happening can be "reduced" by voting for Frost Shield Icon Frost Shield. Choosing this card will lower the maximum Iced Over chance by 5%, making the chance of the event occurring cap at 25% rather than 30%, which is the maximum without the card. The card will also make it so the chance of the event occurring goes up by 1.5% each floor rather than 2%, functioning like the Electrician and Piping Tape card.

Challenge Floors

Challenge Floors are optional Floors that can spawn to give players a challenge to compete. Once completing a Challenge Floor, players are rewarded something to help them in future Floors. There is only 1 Challenge Floor in game so far.

Dyle's Floor

For furthermore additional information, see Dyle's Floor

A Challenge Floor called the 'Dyle's Floor' can be spawned if the TIME'S UP Icon TIME'S UP Card is picked on any odd number Floor, starting at Floor 9. Completing the Dyle's Floor earns you 50 Stamina for the rest of the run. In the Floor, there are guaranteed 25 Machines to be completed and 4 Twisteds, 3 Common Twisteds and the elusive and difficult Twisted Dyle Render Twisted Dyle.

The Floor is a lot easier with good extraction, high Skill Checks, and a fair bit of stealth, as all you need to do is to finish 25 Machines without angering Twisted Dyle until he reaches his higher speeds. It can be relatively tedious to finish, but with good team management and patience, Dyle's Floor becomes significantly less of your worries.

The Floor challenges stealth, speed and attention, as well as avoiding attention from Twisteds, especially Twisted Dyle. These factors are necessary for completing the Floor safely.

Currently, Dyle's Floor is the first and only Challenge Floor in-game.

Trivia

  • The World Record for the highest floor reached and recorded on video in a glitchless run is 600 on Version: 0.13.11.[1]
  • The World Record for the highest floor reached and recorded on video in a glitched run is 401 on v0.6.4.1.[2] Users involved in the run were later banned.
    • The glitch used a 'Stealth Glitch' on their Pebble Render Pebble and Sprout Render Sprout to help them in distracting. The glitch would turn your Stealth Multiplier to -0 and anyone using the bug would get lowered Stealth. This is a known bug first reported 6 months prior to the current world record Glitched run.
  • It is likely that the Main Characters all have their own themed maps. This is due to the existence of Astro Render Astro's, Shelly Render Shelly's, Vee Render Vee's, and Sprout’s themed maps. It is unknown if Pebble will get a themed map, but it is likely.
    • While Bassie Render Bassie, Bobette Render Bobette, and Gourdy Render Gourdy do not have maps themed specifically after them, their respective Holiday Floors can be considered their own versions of the Main Character-themed maps.
      • However, with the Christmas Floor having 2 variants, it would either mean a Main could have more than 1 room, the Event Main Characters are an exclusion, or the Holiday Maps just aren't their rooms.
  • The Diner Floors' third variant was very rare. This was due to a coding oversight where said variant is grouped with the Rainbow Room variants instead of the Diner variants, while still keeping the Floor 6+ requirement. Due to the bugged nature of the floor, it was also occasionally possible for it to spawn as Floor 1. This bug was fixed in v0.9.1, where it now spawns like the other diners.
    • Additionally, in v0.11.1, it was possible to get it on Floor 1 again. This was likely patched shortly after.
  • In 6 different Floors, players can see a Dandy Cutout. It appears to almost be stalking players, as these cutouts can be found in dark corners of rooms, behind objects or through windows.
    • In Variant 1 of the Diner Floors, there is also a Sprout cutout in a blocked-off corner of a similar nature to the Dandy cutouts.
  • Plushies are similar to cutouts. Plushies are scattered around different types of floors—the Gift Shop, Vee's Floor, Shelly's Floor, Sprout's Floor, and Astro's Floor. There are many plushie types like the Dandy plush, Astro plush, Shelly plush, Sprout plush, Pebble plush and Vee plush.
  • Beginning at Floor 5, Main Character Twisteds have the chance to spawn, albeit with slim chances that get better overtime.
  • The Dyle's Floor is the only Floor type to need certain conditions to be met other than Floor number.
    • Also, his map is one of the few maps to only spawn when the floor number meets a certain condition, with his map being odd and larger than 8, the others being Event maps, needing the floor number to be multiples of 5.
  • Sprout's Floor is the first and only Main Floor to spawn before Floor 16.
  • It's possible to get both a Blackout and an Ichor Leak on the same Floor, though the chances of that is 9% at best, and 15.3% if Twisted Brightney Render Twisted Brightney spawns.
    • This likely means other Floor Events in the future can occur at the same time.
    • When an Event is active, the chance all three happen will be 2.7% at best and 4.59% with Twisted Brightney
  • For some reason, Qwel numbers the maps' Floor requirement wrong, saying the Diner and Greenhouse spawning in Floors 5+, the Gift Shop, Warehouse and Sprout's Floor in Floors 10+ and Astro's Floor, Shelly's Floor, and Vee's Floor in Floors 15+.
  • All Floors will always have 2 Elevators, a broken/fake one and the one you use to enter, exit the Floor and wait in.
  • Debris can be seen floating throughout the Floors due to Gardenview being closed for a very long time.
