The Show

Dandy's World is a children's television show featuring the Main Toons as well as other side Toons. The show may have been created sometime in 1990 after Gardenview Center was constructed back in 1984 and after the Toons were created in 1988. This makes it possible that the Toons themselves voiced their show counterparts, but considering the unknown nature of their relationship with their television versions, it's impossible to say. Some in-game dialogue (such as between Scraps and Vee) references the show as if the Toons themselves lived in it, muddling their real-world and TV continuities together. But as seen in dialogue between Astro and Connie, the Toons know about the show's existence, however it is unknown if they think of the episodes as retellings of their memories.

There are three known seasons (with a possible fourth season) as of now, with at most fifteen episodes in each season, airing from around 1990 (being the earliest year known so far), to 2002, after Gardenview closed down.

Main Premise

According to a note written by Arthur Walton, the show demonstrated strong values to children. Most of the notes are covered in Ichor, but this note reads:

"██k for a lot██ ██on short notice you know. But I understand the importance of companionship and friendship. That is what the show teaches most, after all!"

Merchandise

Throughout the show's run, multiple pieces of merchandise were sold in the Gardenview Gift Shop. Albeit, in the Dandy Plush marketing poster in the small print, it talks about how Dandy's WorldTM products contain materials that may cause health effects in sensitive individuals. Refunds are not eligible after purchasing any product. Gardenview Entertainment is not liable for any health concerns created by the products listed in the catalog.

Plushies

The plushies are small, soft versions of the Toons sold in the Gift Shop coming two sizes, either a normal sized plushie or a small sized plushie.

List of Plushies

Trading Cards

It is likely that these cards are part of a strategy-based card game with different pieces of artwork and colors for Toons. There are currently 6 different colors that may represent a card’s [type', but it is unknown what these 'types' are.

List of Cards

Puzzle Boxes

The puzzle boxes are some of the miscellaneous posters found around Gardenview, which have been printed onto the jigsaw puzzle pieces.

Trivia

  • "Dandy in Showtime Panic" can be considered a lost episode of the show in-universe.
    • Due to what was said in the city newspaper, Gardenview Center closed on June 29th, before the episode was set to play on July 21st.
    • It could be possible that the episode still aired even after Gardenview's closing. Even with Gardenview closed, Arthur Walton still could've worked with Delilah Keen to create more episodes. However, there is no evidence that the two would have stopped trying to teach kids all around the world through the Dandy's World show, seeing just how committed they were, even going to the point of creating and possibly raising all the toons (except Toodles).
  • The Tapes most likely contain recordings of the Dandy's World Show as it seems like they are what calm down Dandy and prevents him from becoming Twisted Dandy.
    • Despite this none of the TV's in Gardenview have a VCR that would have been used to play or record the VHS Tapes. But in v0.6.4 a TV with a VCR was added into the elevator, but there are not VCR for the other TVs and Projectors in the maps
    • This can also be said for the projectors, which would have to be hooked up to a VCR in order to project the episodes.
      • This can be seen in Razzle & Dazzle's room in roleplay mode where they have a bunch of Tapes next to a projector. Without anything else in their room that can be used to play the Tapes, it must only be the projector.
  • The Rehearsal and Practice Cards both have an icon of a script which might be a transcript for any of the episodes for the show, making it more likely the Toons are voicing their show counterparts.
  • "Astro in Stage Fright" and "Vee and Shelly in Past and Future" are the only episode posters that have no airing dates but can be assumed to have aired between 2000 and 2002 since they share the same title structure (Toon's Name/s in Episode Name) as "Pebble in Day Out" and "Dandy in Showtime Panic".
  • "Argumentative Woes" is the only episode poster that uses "and" instead of "&" when naming starring Toons.
  • "Winning Big" and "Argumentative Woes" are the only two episodes that might match up with known season and episode numbers when compared to storyboards with the same characters and similar stories.
  • On all the emotions sheets there is some type of code reading 25719-AG. Most likely AG stands for Animation Guide, but it is currently unknown what 25719 is supposed to mean.
  • All of the 'words' in the storyboards are complete gibberish, and it isn't clear what any of the Toons are saying besides punctuation marks.
  • Goob is the only Toon to be represented by two different colors in storyboards.
    • Those colors being red and blue.
  • The Sprout & Cosmo baking TV animation is currently the longest animation in the game, at 30 seconds long.
  • The Vee's Gameshow TV animation and Sprout & Cosmo baking TV animation are the only animations that show static at the end in order to make the animation loop.
  • Sprout is the only Main Character who is not featured in any episode posters.
  • Sprout and Bobette are the only Main Characters who don't have an emotion sheet.
  • Pebble and Bobette are the only Main Characters that have not been featured in any storyboards.
  • The Season 2 Episode 6 storyboard is the first storyboard to have text. However, it is not dialogue from any of the Toons, but instead for salt and sugar bags.
  • Shelly seems to be the least popular Main Toon of the show, since almost none of her plushies were sold besides three, meaning she is unpopular among children.
  • Pebble's normal sized plushie is the same size as his Toon counterpart.
  • The Show uses the game’s title design, as seen on the trading cards booster pack and the on the back of the cards.
  • The trading cards' designs are a fusion of Pokémon Trading Card Game and Magic: The Gathering cards. [1]
  • Astro's and Razzle & Dazzle's trading cards share the same purple color, likely meaning that they are the same type.
  • Despite Vee's Gameshow animation being her hosting her gameshow, it is not part of the episode "Winning Big" due to Scraps not being a contestant in it or even shown.
  • In Season 2 Episode 8, the shape of Scraps’ head in the storyboard is an octagon instead of a hexagon.
  • In the Season 1 Episode 3 storyboard, the opening of Shelly's head is missing.
  • The Dandy Popsicle is a reference to the SpongeBob Popsicle with the same out-of-place gumball eyes.
  • The Dandy Plushie is the only in-game Merchandise that is also used as a Trinket, called the Dandy Plush.
  • The Dandy Plush was designed based off a previous version of Twisted Dandy where his stomach was torn apart, which is why there is stitching on the plush version's stomach. [2]
    • This design choice would be used with the other plushies, with them also having stitching on their stomachs.
  • Goob's Special Spaghetti skin is a reference to his food item found on Diner menus.
  • "Astro in Stage Fright" has the most Toons to appear in a single episode with 10 to 12, but this is because 9 to 10 of them are minor characters for the episode.
  • Rudie, Ginger, Coal, and Bobette had all appeared in the show during its Christmas Specials; Bobette and Coal likely being in the first one.
  • The TV animations were made in Flipaclip by @lysteral [3].
  • "Snowy Adventure" is the oldest known episode of the show, dating back to December 25th, 1990.
    • "Snowy Adventure" is also the only episode that is most likely in season 1 with an airing date.
  • The Razzle & Dazzle and Shelly projector animations are the only animations that contain 2 frames flashing back and forth.
    • Due to them only being made up of 2 frames each, Qwel was the one that made the projector animations. [4]
  • The Poppy Pop most likely has multiple flavours due to the vending machine has different colored buttons which are probably for the different flavours. but is currently unknown what these flavours could be.
  • In the "Snowy Adventure" episode poster Bobette is holding a candy cane that is completely white, missing it's assumably red stripe.
  • The Teddy Bear can be found in Flavor Frenzy on the Cursed Embers Map seen inside of a portrait being held by Second Phase Mothmallow.
  • The Shelly Plush and the Astro Plush has some inconsequences, with the Shelly Plush having wearing overalls with buttons instead of her pinafore which has no buttons, and the Astro Plush has light blue body under his blanket instead of a navy blue like Twisted Astro' s body.
