Currencies

Currencies are interactive collectibles in Dandy's World that can be used for purchasing Toons, Trinkets, Skins, Stickers and Items. There are currently six Currencies, with three of them being Ichor, Tapes and Research, and the three other being Event currencies that can't be collected outside of their respective Event, with those being Baskets, Ornaments and Pumpkins. All Event Currencies will revert to zero for the next year's Event.

Obtaining Currency

• Ichor:
  • Completing Machines (5 Ichor);
    • If more than one player contributed to the Machine's completion, they'll get 1 Ichor for each 20% of Machine completion that they contributed.
  • Collecting Research Capsules (2 per Capsule);
  • Using a Toon's non-Passive Ability (5 Ichor, once per Floor);
  • Purchasing with Robux (varying amounts)
    • 75 (300 Ichor)
    • 375 (1500 Ichor)
    • 750 (3150 Ichor)
    • 1250 (5500 Ichor)
  • Through Codes, with 'ICHOR' being the only one that's currently and permanently available, which gives 50 Ichor.
• Research:
  • Research Capsules (1% Research per Capsule, 2% if playing as Rodger);
  • Encountering Twisteds (5% Research per Encounter, 10% if playing as Rodger).
• Tapes:
  • Completing a Floor (5 Tapes);
  • Using Items (2 Tapes for Commons, 3 for Uncommons, 5 for Rares, 8 for Very Rares and 10 for Ultra Rares);
  • Completing Machines (10 Tapes for 100% completion, 1 per 10%);
  • Encountering Twisteds (5 Tapes per Twisted, unless Twisted Glisten, Twisted Connie (both 3 Tapes) and Twisted Blot's hands (10 Tapes));
  • Using a Toon's non-Passive Ability (3 Tapes).
• Event Currencies (Baskets, Ornaments and Pumpkins):
  • Encountering Twisteds (1 Event Currency per Encounter);
  • Collecting the Currency's Item collectables (5 Event Currency per Collectable);
  • Completing Machines (5 Event Currency per Machine);
  • Purchasing with Robux (varying amounts);
    • 99 (300 Event Currency);
    • 475 (1450 Event Currency);
    • 925 (2950 Event Currency);
    • 1500 (5000 Event Currency);
  • Using the Event's Codes.

Do note that, during the weekends, the amount of Event Currencies you collect are doubled.

Tips & Tricks

• Having a Coal in your run or being Pebble can be great for collecting any currency, as their Abilities highlight any Items in their vicinity, or, in Coal's case, in the overall Floor.
• Playing as Rodger can be extremely helpful of you want to collect Research more easily, as his Passive Ability, Detective, allows him to collect double the amount of Research.
• Using Bone Needle and Thread, Egg Radar or Festive Lights during their respective Events can be pretty helpful if the player wants the Event's currency more quickly.
• Playing as Toons with high Extraction Speed, Skill Check or Abilities that can assist in extracting Machines (such as Eggson or Vee) can be helpful for collecting both Tapes and Ichor, and even Event currencies if one is active.

Trivia

• All the Event Currencies have been leaked earlier than their Events' release.
• The Event Currencies are the same object as the Event Main Character Toons.
• All of the Common Event Trinkets are used to highlight their respective Event's currency.
  • Research Map does something similar, but with Research instead.
• The Halloween Currency used in Dandy's World is Pumpkins, which are the exact same Currency used in Flavor Frenzy's Halloween Events as well.
• Rodger is the only Toon that can collect the double amount of a currency, that being Research.
• Coin Purse and Fancy Purse are the only Trinkets that can give the player a currency, that being Tapes.
• Research and Tapes are the only Currencies to not be able to be used for purchasing Stickers and Skins.
  • They are also the only currency that can't be bought with Robux.
  • In addition, Tapes are the only Currency to not have any use outside of a run.
• It's implied that Tapes contain recordings of the show, which may explain why Dandy wants them so badly, as they calm him down.
