Coal the Pet Rock, also referred to as Coal, is one of the 4 playable Holiday Toons in Dandy's World. She was introduced on January 10th, 2025, alongside Bobette, Ginger, and Rudie. She is only available during the Christmas Event in Bobette's Store.

Appearance

Coal is a dark gray dog-like rock the shape and size of a boulder, with four dark, stubby legs, a similarly rock-like tail and black snowflake marks on her cheeks. She has a bored, tired, somewhat cross expression on her face, having dark circles under her eyes and thick, furrowed brows. She wears a red two-sided satchel over her back with a flag on it, the flag having a similar crossbone design to the marks on her face.

Personality

Coal is a rather stoic Toon, though she often appears grumpy, frequently growling. She generally isn't excited about many things, as shown in her dialogue with Rudie and information card. Unlike the other Christmas Toons, she doesn't seem to care about the holidays. She's usually well-behaved, as shown in her interaction with Teagan.

Strategies

Coal is a good distractor and can help other players. Her stats are identical to Flutter's, but her active ability makes her slightly worse at distraction. She can help find Tapes for Sprout and Teagan, help locate healing items for Cosmo and Ginger, find helpful items for Toons with lower stats, and is overall very helpful.

Movement Speed

• Speedy Shoes/ Dog Plush
  • This Trinket combination is also good if you are looking to distract, as it gives a +15.5% boost in Walk Speed, and +5% boost in Run Speed, allowing you to outwalk many Twisteds, and make distracting easier.

• Clown Horn / Ribbon Spool
  • This Trinket combination is partially good if you are looking to distract, since it gives you a bit more walk speed, though you may need to use more stamina to outwalk/outrun most fast Twisteds like Yatta, Pebble and Glisten (Enraged).

Extraction Speed

• Vee's Remote/ Magnifying Glass
  • If you want to extract as Coal, these would be good Trinkets to use, while being more risky with the decreased Skill Check Window. Vee's Remote allows you to get harder Machines out of the way, and Magnifying Glass allows you to do Machines much faster than you normally would.

• Coal has two UGC Items, those being Coal Head Buddy and Coal Pretty Present Buddy.
• Coal is the first female Toon to not have eyelashes.
  • The reason is because it wouldn't have worked well with Coal's 3D eyes.
• Coal's active ability is similar to Pebble's old active ability, Fetch, with the difference being that it highlights the items for every player.
• Bobette is Coal's owner, as confirmed by one of their interactions.
• It is likely that Bobette overfeeds Coal; this is implied by Coal's interaction with Connie.
• Coal is the only Christmas Toon to not have been teased prior to the Christmas Event.
• Coal's stats are identical to Flutter's.
• Coal is the second toon to have 3D eyes instead of 2D. The first being Pebble.
• Coal and Pebble might actually be friends, as one of Coal's Mastery quests include surviving 5 rounds with him.
  • Qwel also confirmed that Coal and Pebble aren't related.
• Coal is the first and only Toon to have a Main Character involved with one of their Mastery quests.
• When Bobette first got Coal, she was tiny, based on Bobette's interaction with Pebble.
• Coal is one of the few Toons that came out as a secret, along with Teagan and Finn.
• Coal's walking and running animation is slower in the lobby/roleplay mode than in-game.
• Coal was the hardest Toon to make and model, mainly due to her eyebrows.
  • It took 7 times to try to model her eyebrows
• Coal's Pretty Present leg models are shorter than her Vintage and Default skins and this makes her legs disconnect from her body when she runs.
