Dialogue in Bassie's Store

Bassie the Basket, also known as Bassie, is one of the 8 playable Holiday Toons, one of the 7 playable Main Characters and one of the 4 playable Easter Event toons in Dandy's World. She was introduced on April 18th, 2025, alongside Cocoa, Eggson, and Flyte. She is only available during the Easter Event in Bassie's Store.

Appearance

Bassie is a brown wicker basket with two darker brown handles on each side, along with two eyelashes underneath her eyes as her mouth is formed into a small, cat-like smile. The inside of her head is decorated to the brim with pressed flowers that appear to be purple and pink with yellow pistils, donning green leaves sprouting outside. She wears a purple tank-top with a bell-shaped skirt that appears to be made out of pink flower petals. Finally, she wears green and light green striped stirrup socks.

Personality

Bassie is shy and timid, appearing to fidget during her idle animation. She has a fear of being replaced. She also feels resentment and jealousy towards Cocoa, who is the fan favourite and who is the better picking for the Main Character class, as said by Delilah Keen. In her dialogues, she is seen laughing uncontrollably whenever she feels like she is not keeping up with others' expectations of her, which often makes other toons feel uncomfortable or weirded out. As also seen in her dialogues, Bassie constantly compares herself to the other "main" friends, trying to remember their names, because she possibly has a fear of being replaced, knowing that if anyone were to replace her, it'd be Cocoa, further hinted at in Bassie's interaction with Bobette.

Mastery

  • Use this Toon's Active Ability 120 times!
  • Reach Floor 20!
  • Travel 160000 Meters!
  • Finish 110 Machines!
  • Survive 65 Floors!
  • Use 130 Items!

Reward: Vintage Bassie skin.

Mastery Strategies

  • To complete the 1st mastery quest, you can quickly spam the ability if you are safe. Bassie's ability has no cooldown, which allows this quest to be easily completed even if you don't have any items in your inventory.
  • To complete the 2nd mastery quest, it is recommended to equip Savory Charm and Vee's Remote and focus on surviving, completing Machines, and fleeing from the Twisteds. In complex situations, this Trinket combination will be beneficial to reaching floor 20. You can also try to find a good team, making it easier for yourself.
  • To complete the 3rd mastery quest, you can equip Dog Plush and Clown Horn and walk around the first floor without doing any machines, but this will get boring fast and is inefficient. You could also distract for a team, but this can be difficult without proper communication.
  • To complete the 4th mastery quest, using Vee's Remote is heavily recommended due to Bassie's abysmal extracting potential, and solo runs leave all the machines for yourself.
  • To complete the 5th mastery quest, completing floors as quickly as possible with a team will help with this.
  • To complete the 6th mastery quest, using your extra inventory slot, you can pick up and use many more items than usual. Using Dandy Plush can be beneficial, as you will-- in most cases-- be able to buy his entire stock, helping you to use more items.

Strategies

At first glance, Bassie seems to fit into the role of a distractor; this is due to having identical Movement Speed and Stamina to that of   Pebble. However, because of her unique abilities and 4 Stealth, she is best played as a survivalist/support Toon rather than a pure distractor. With that said, she may fit into the role of a backup distractor depending on your team's average Stealth and how experienced they are. She makes an extremely good survivalist due to her superior Movement stats, Stealth, and additional item slot.

Due to Bassie's abysmal Extraction Speed and Skill Check stats, it is recommended to mostly avoid Machines and instead use her excellent survivability for your team's benefit. Because of her abilities that grant four inventory slots and enable her to drop Items without penalty, Bassie is an amazing team supporter and offers new ways for Toons to approach floors. This is primarily done by storing items for future floors, or helping out fellow Toons by gifting them important Items such as Box O' Chocolates, Health Kit, or Smoke Bomb.

It's beneficial to give Toons items that aid with their weaknesses, such as giving Rodger a Speed Candy, or collecting worthless Items for Sprout/ Teagan purely to increase their amount of Tapes. Furthermore, a strategy is to gather all items on the floor and leave them at certain locations, such as leaving Skill Check Candy and Extraction Speed Candy at an unfinished machine, and leaving all other items nearby the elevator for others to grab whatever they would like during Panic Mode. Additionally, if Twisted Gigi is on the floor, you can drop your valuable Items in a safe spot or simply in front of the elevator to avoid them being taken. If this is not an option, you can preemptively reorganize your items instead.

  • Stamina and Speed items should be dropped in the loops/in front of struggling Toons, especially if you witness them use an item or multiple (this guarantees they'll have an empty slot). They should also be provided to Toons with low stamina or speed after you see them escape, as they may need more immediately afterwards. Try to give these items to Distractors only when they're farther in their loops, putting the items in front of them rather than following behind. Leave any excess about halfway along the path to Elevator so struggling Toons can reach them in time.
  • As for heals, Bassie should be used to deliver Bandages and Health Kits to Distractors so they don't have to leave their loops. She acts as storage for these, similarly to Cosmo and Ginger, even if she can't "split" Health Kits. She should always buy heals when able. Generally, Bassie should prioritize Bandages and Cosmo/Ginger should prioritize Health Kits if either of the Toons are present, but ensuring that they split these items makes access to healing items more efficient for your teammates, so try not to let one of them hog all of the healing items. When in doubt, Bassie can always drop them for Cosmo and Ginger later, can pick them up faster, and can hold onto more items safely, so she can function as their second inventory.
  • Extraction items can be delivered to Toons you notice working on Machines (especially if you witness them use an item, as they'll have a free slot) or held onto if you intend to work on Machines yourself. Jumper Cables and Valves can be used yourself, as they offer the same value no matter who uses them.

With the Bone Trinket equipped, Bassie has the potential to become the most mobile Toon in the game, as she can constantly drop and pick up Items in order to gain a permanent 25% Movement Speed bonus (assuming you pick up the Items every 4 seconds). This increase has the potential to make her the fastest Toon in the game, outpacing even Looey at 1 . However, it can require a lot of focus.

Trinket Combinations

This article/section's information is based on personal preferences from different players. Adding information that may prove better results is appreciated.

Recommended Trinket combinations for Bassie:

Extraction

  • The following Trinkets help Bassie deal with her main deficiency: 1 Skill Check. She is a Toon with below average extraction potential but forced to extract for not having a full-time role such as kiting or supporting.
    • Vee's Remote, to instantly complete Machines in dangerous locations, such as dead ends and open areas.
    • Blue Bandana, to avoid some Skill Checks and slightly improve Bassie's extraction.
    • Mime Makeup, to more safely extract by removing the danger of missing Skill Checks.

Mobility

  • Bone and Feather Duster/Any
    • With these trinkets, by dropping and picking up items quickly, Bassie gains extraordinary survivability. Bone makes picking items equivalent to using a Speed Candy and Feather Duster restores Stamina faster than you lose it. It can be used for distracting, but due to her high stealth this might not be a great idea. Both can be paired with other trinkets such as the ones in the Extraction Section.

Other

  • Dandy Plush/Any - This Trinket allows Bassie to stock up on important items earlier and continuously for half the cost so they can be shared with her teammates.

Trivia

  • She is the third Main Character to have the requirement of reaching Floor 20 for her mastery, the previous two being Pebble and Bobette.
  • Upon release, her active ability was labeled as a Passive Ability. This was later changed.
    • This is because the second Main Character Toon's ability was generally supposed to be a passive one.
    • Despite this, the Trinket Peppermint Icing does not trigger when using her ability.
    • This made Bassie the first Main Character (and Toon in general) to have 2 passive abilities.
  • According to her dialogue with Glisten, Bassie's favorite flowers are tulips, hyacinths, and lily flowers.
  • She is the first Toon to have an active ability with no cooldown.
    • By spamming the Active ability button, you would already have completed one of her six mastery quests.
    • She is also currently the only Toon who doesn’t speak when using their active ability.
    • This is most likely why Peppermint Icing doesn't trigger, as it would've made Bassie able regenerate Stamina rapidly.
  • She is the second Holiday Toon to cost Ichor, the first being Bobette.
  • Bassie has one UGC item, that being Bassie's Head.
  • She is currently the only Toon to have 4+ in three of her stats.
  • She is the third Toon to have 1 in Skill Check, the first being Shrimpo, and the second being Cosmo, and the fourth being Blot
  • Bassie may be afraid of being replaced by Cocoa being the Easter Main Character, foreshadowed by one of her interactions with Bobette, and the note from Delilah found on the Spring Boutique.
  • Upon release, her Skill Check size looked roughly 4 . This was later fixed.
  • Currently, Bassie, Pebble, Razzle & Dazzle (on odd floors), and Looey (on one heart) have the highest Movement Speed in the game.
  • Bassie shares similarities with Bobette as they both have an NPC variant, a playable variant, and a Twisted variant.
    • She also has similarities with Dandy as they both have an NPC variant and a twisted variant.
    • She also has similar requirements to Bobette, that being 3,000 of their respective event's currency, 2,500 Ichor, and 100% Research on their Twisted counterparts.
  • It's confirmed by Qwel that Bassie with the Bone Trinket equipped will not be nerfed in contrast to popular belief that it will be. [1]
  • According to her interaction with Gigi, Bassie collects pressed flowers.
  • In Bassie's Store during the annual Easter Event, if the player has purchased a Toon License for every Easter Toon but her, her smile turns into a sad frown. But if you buy her after that, she gets confused, then happy again.
  • Bassie is the second holiday Main Toon, with the first being Bobette.
  • Her plushie looks slightly different than her: She's usually represented as wearing green socks; however, this aspect is missing in on her plushie's model.
  • Bassie is the third Main Character Toon to have updated models and animations, the first being Bobette, and the second being Pebble.
  • Bassie is one of the only Main Toons, alongside Bobette, to not yet have a known handler.
  • Bassie, Cocoa, Flyte, Eggson, Bobette, Coal, Ginger, Rudie, Looey, Connie, Yatta, Pebble, Blot and Vee are currently the only Toons to have optimized animations.
  • Despite the fact that Fishing Rod gives the user 3 items it specifically grants Bassie 4 items due to her passive ability.
  • Bassie is the first Main (and Toon in general) to have a shop but not a pet.
  • According to her dialogue with Brightney, she may be afraid of the dark.
  • Bassie has 2 different idle animations, one where she touches her basket handle, and another where she brushes off her skirt, similar to Bobette.
    • This makes her the third toon to have 2 idles. The first being Glisten, the second being Yatta, and the fourth being Blot.
  • Currently, Bassie and Blot are the second slowest extractors in the game.
    • Shrimpo is the slowest at extracting.
  • Bassie’s last name is Bloomington, after being confirmed by Qwel in a stream on 6/14/25.
